I just found out that Melissa Bell Chait (u/s Glinda) suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. It's so sad that this happened to someone so young. Nobody knows if she'll recover yet. I thought it might be nice to send her a "thinking of you" card to the Gershwin, where they could get it to her. This could be done as a group or individually. Please let me know what you think ASAP. Thanks.

omg, that's awful! She was the first "Glinda" I saw...my first time seeing Wicked was during Kristin's throat infection. Melissa was pretty good too, and I wasn't disappointed. We should definitely keep her and her family in our thoughts and prayers.

That is horrible! I feel so badly for all her friends and family. But I think it's a great idea to spend a card to the Gershwin. I'm not sure what would be better though, a group card or individual card. Maybe if we sent one individually it might show more support.

i was just about to make this post myself. Please stay posted. I have e-mailed some people over at Wicked about where we should send cards and about her condition. Hopefully I will get a response soon and you guys will be the first to know. For now, make your cards, and hold on to them for a little bit. GET WELL SOON MELISSA!

Oh, that's terrible. Melissa was my first G(a)linda as well, and its horrible to hear something happened to her. I think we should definitely all send individual cards, and if you'd like I could send one and sign it "The Verdigris Board" or something like that. If you think we should send one as a group as well...

This article is up on Playbill.com (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/84883.html) Looks like she's out of the hospital now, thank god. Resting and feeling much better!  Though, she won't be back in Wicked for a few weeks, so I think some kind of get well card campaign would be absolutely "wonderful"! |

I think the group card thing is a good idea for people who don't have time to send cards or they can't get the address of where to send the card. I think she might enjoy getting a card from a group of fans.

Ok, I'm thinking that we can do a group card, as well as individual cards for anyone who wants to. So, ideas for a group card? Should one person make it and put our names on it? Or should we each write a little piece and post it here, then someone puts all of them on the card? Any other ideas are welcome! Let's do this quickly, so it gets to her while she still really needs it! Thanks!

I'd guess the Gershwin. That way it would be waiting for her the day she came back to work. :-)
And just because I'm curious... in the ensemble, what parts does she play? Any promo shots with her in 'em?
