I got this CD from a friend and cannot stop listening to it. It's just just Idina - this entire CD is so friggin fabulous, from 'Poor Child', which compelled me to listen more, to 'Old Fashioned [Lesbian] Love Story' which had my splitting a gut laughing, to 'Life of the Party' which was so fabulous. I was in NYC today and bough the music book for it to try to play with my less-then mediocre piano skills.
AND...the oh-so-helpful man that helped me find the book in the store (Colony, on Time Square), told me there was going to be a REVIVAL!!! AAA! I'm so excited, somewhere in New York state or New Jersey. If anyone hears about it, let me know man! -gyps

You should go and buy it right now. Not kidding. Run. Swing on a Tarzan rope if you have to!

I came home singing it, and I was home alone belting my little heart out (as usual...since I don't like to do it in public because MY puclib sucks), and all of a sudden my sister just walks into her bedroom. I had no idea she was even home!!!
Damnit! It's like I have my own little musical at home when I'm alone, and I had NO IDEA she came in. I should have...not sang at all. One day my window's just going to shatter. -gyps

Yeah I kinda tend to block out the world when I go to "Jeni's Musical Land" and I'm usually interrupted mid-belt by my mom. LLAM! I mainly belt my heart out though when I'm driving, with no one else in the car of course, but occasionally I'll belt full out anywhere!

I was singing Wild Party songs at drama the other day, walking around with my headphones on max volume with hopes to spread the Lippa-Love to other people...naturally, it didn't work. But ah well.
I can't wait till I start driving. (wow that sounds so lame) Then I'll just go drive somewhere, park, THEN belt, since I don't want to crash into anyone when i squeeze my eyes shut. -gyps

Good idea. I get a lot of looks from people when I'm driving. Mainly because I'm so small and I look so young and they're probably think "Why is she driving?" and the other because I make weird faces when I sing!

and the other because I make weird faces when I sing! Everyone does. Don't tell me you sat too far away from the stage to not notice Idina's face during, umm, EVERY song... -gyps

Oh I absolutely noticed her face during every song! After watching her I pointed a camera at my face while singing to see what I look like! She's the whole reason I'm conscious of it! But my friend's voice teacher makes her find her "funny face happy voice place". It's a weird face that you make that makes your voice sound the best! I find it excellent!

My face is nothing all that pretty normally. You should see me when I sing. It's ridiculous. I look all contorted...like some wierd kind of twisted skin-colored raisin with a face. And since I'm so self-depreciating I don't really think anything makes my voice sound better either. So I guess I'm out of luck. "Funny face funny voice" for me. -gyps

Oh unnamed god, Idina when she sings. I always tell people who win lotto to look for the tongue! llam And her eyes get all big... It's fun to watch though, and if you try to imitate some of the things she does (the tongue thing for example) you'll find that they do help your singing...

I sent my friend the little broadway.com video for Wicked, and the first thing she says to me is "Holy shit, did you see her tongue? Of coruse you did! Holy shit!" And I go what? What's wrong with her tongue? and my friends yelled "NOTHING!!!" Only later did she explain what was so great about it. And I'm like "yea, I know, I saw it..." -gyps
