So what are everyone's dream roles in any show? Here are some of mine, if I remember more I'll post them later:

Well, I don't know if this counts but I was Elphaba in a play in a DREAM once, and then another time I "befriended" the girl who played Elphie in a school play in ANOTHER dream only to foil her plans, push her into the orchestra and get her impaled with a violin stick so I could get the part...
Dream!Me is so wicked. But I don't want to hope for such good roles since I know I'm just going to get dissapointed in the end.
My audition motto: Hope for nothing, pray for the worst, and you might come out pleasantly surprised.
Although when I saw RENT with a friend, she said the Maureen was so bad to the extent that I would have made a better Maureen. SO there may be an anorexically slim chance that I might make some random off-broadway ensemble one of these days.

AHHH! That's so horrible! I had a dream once that a theater company I auditioned for a few times did Wicked and all my friends were in it but Idina was in it too. It was really really weird. Because I killed everyone cuz they got to be in a show with her and I didn't...

Marian the Librarian from Music Man (not that I want to tread in KC's shoes or anything!) Polly from Crazy for You Yeah I like the oldies. Marian is sooooooooo me. If I could sing. Which I can't. But I have her personality. And Polly is so NOT me that I think she'd be a great role. If I could sing. Which I can't. Then for something totally different... Rizzo from Grease Penny Pennywise from Urinetown Mary Magdelan (sp) from JSC Carlotta from Phantom of the Opera Elphaba from Wicked Galinda from Wicked Nessarose from Wicked Lilli/Kate - Kiss Me, Kate Baker's Wife from Into the Woods Witch from Into the Woods Mrs. Lovett (sp) from Sweeny Todd Mama Rose from Gypsy I think that is about it... Anybody see a possible trend (other then the Wicked girls). I like playing the semi-villian/bad girl.  |

so Broadway musicals, not so much for me you know?
But plays, plays are fine by me. Right now my absolute dream role is Lizzie in The Rainmaker. Best play ever. I was dead set on being Amanda in The Glass Menagerie last semester but our director totally plays favorites and has openly admitted that if it comes down to a senior and a junior, he's picking the senior. I knew this so I tried out for Laura instead, but again it came down o me and a senior. And said senior happened to be blonde and relatively flat chested, so that was that. But the director did compliment me on how impressed he was with my audition.
And currently our school is doing a Glass Menagerie spoof, and I landed the lead in that. So I am kinda fufilling my dream of playing Amanda..

Awesome topic! Let's see... Lilli/Kate in "Kiss Me, Kate" Elphaba in "Wicked" (hmmm.. we certainly have quite the collection of Elphabas in Training, don't we? heehee... ETs) Violet or Daisy in "Side Show" Eponine in "Les Miserables" Lucy in "Jekyll and Hyde" Mother in "Ragtime" And what's killing me, there are two companies in this area doing the last two shows on my list during the rest of this year. Ragtime would be over the summer, which I could probably do, but Jekyll and Hyde would be running during my fall semester!  I would need a car to haul it back and forth from my hometown to my college each and every night! *sigh* The things we'll do for theater... |

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm in Music Man right now! (I play Harold Hill) Such a fun show. And my sister was Polly a year ago. I don't know why I'm saying this...
My dream roles are:
Fiyero-Wicked
Cowardly Lion- Wizard Of Oz (I actually did this part once- but I really want to do it again!)
Mark- Rent
Bobby- Crazy for You
Agwe- Once on this Island (slight skin color problem here, but whatever)- This isn't the greatest part, but I just looooove this show!

Belle in Beauty and the Beast
That was my favorite Disney movie for awhile, and when I got the broadway soundtrack, it's fueled me ever since. It would be so wonderful just to get up there and...*goes off on a tangent*
