Dream roles:
Belle in Beauty and the Beast (I'd love to wear her ball gown!) Elphaba in Wicked (even though I can't sing) Marian the librarian in The Music Man Eliza in My Fair Lady Cinderella in any production of her story
I have a thing for the outcasts and people who don't quite fit into society, I guess...

Mama Rose, in Gypsy. Yes, yes, hearing this from one of the board's babies is a little funny, I know. But since I saw the movie many years ago, and then the show in september, I've been in love with the character; her passion, her determination, her blindness to everything that makes any sense at all; her dreams. And I can't dance, and I don't have the body for stripping. But this is a dream role of mine. I had a dreeeeeam... And her solo in the end always makes me cry, I don't know why. -gyps

Give it 30 years, it could happen.
Bernadette Peters is actually the right age for Mama Rose, since the REAL historical Rose has Louise at 19 or so and June at 21ish. So by the time the show ends, she's only in her 40s.

Hell, if Bernadette can do it on Broadway, who says I can't do it in a future high school production or something? It'll still be that role, no doubt. Plus, she's not that tall, and since I'm only 5'2'' (final answer!) there's hope for me after all. Don't even get me started on Cheno, because she makes up for her height in voice! A feat that I cannot dream to accomplish. -gyps

My dream is coming closer to a reality. I heard a rumor that my school actually wanted to do 'Gypsy' this year but didn't so this guy *cough*blake*cough* could have the lead instead of some girl. So there's always next year. Oh well, what the hell. -gyps

Elphaba/Glinda-Wicked Daisy-Side Show Belle-Beauty and the Beast Marguerite-The Scarlet Pimpernel Penny-Hairspray Annie-Annie(hmmm, an 18 year old play an 11 year old. . .It could happen!) Lucy-Jekyll and Hyde Marion-The Music Man Winnifred-Once Upon a Mattress Maria-The Sound of Music Millie-Thoroughly Modern Millie Mary-Zombies from the Beyond Toffee-Zombie Prom
hehehehe. How I love musicals. Our professional theater company is actually doing the Disney Beauty and the Beast, but it's really hard to get into, and I don't think I got in. :-(

Unless they aren't doing Disney's, then it's possible.

Actually it can be legally done, under a special contract from Equity, the actors' and stage managers' union. Wanna know how I know? I auditioned for four different versions around New York and else where, all of whom are doing Disney's Beauty and the Beast, all of whom are professional Equity/Non-Eq theatres. If it's a professional theatre company, they tend to work outside the realm of amature community theatre and high school theatre, where, you're correct, it's probably not been legally released yet.
