Lol, it says Rent Video...and then you click and you can see 3 scenes and there's another site where you can see Behind the Scenes recording of Seasons of Love and Out Tonight...so it definetly exists...

It's definitely better live. But I wouldn't be entirely against a "Rent" movie. As long as it was done right. Possibly with some OBC or other good Broadway cast members. Just no big time actors. Actually, there was a mini-commercial that I saw of "Rent" awhile ago. It was really nice, good direction and such. I'll see if I can the link. Ah, I found it! If anyone's interested (Norbert's in it!): www.spotnyc.com/broadcast/rent.htmlNow if a "Rent" movie was made, I think I'd be ok with it if it was made like this commercial. ooh thanks for sharing that link, i had never seen that before. now i'm even more excited to see the show next month!! of course, it'd be awesome if i could go to new york and see it on broadway, but since thats not possible at the moment, i'm just as happy with seeing the touring company. as for all the talk about RENT becoming a movie, i think i'd actually like it. that is if it was done right. but i don't think it'll ever get made into a film. well maybe not ever, but i don't think any time soon. i remember hearing a long while back that spike lee had interest in shooting it, but then a whole bunch of stuff went wrong and the idea got canned. what i'd really love is just a video of the performance. an actual one instead of bootlegs.

a "Rent" movie...*shudders* That would completely ruin it!! Especially if Justin was in it, the theater would be filled with annoying giggly teenyboppers.
Moving on...yeah, I was listening to my friend's CD and I am really loving it!! Of course I always make her switch to "Over the Moon" and "Take me or Leave me" so I can hear Idina! lol

No, don't move on! Continue to rant! That would be *awful*. The end of the world. UGH. ::breathes:: I'm really scared to see what they'll do with a movie...not that they're likely to *ever* get it off the ground...I mean it's been what, four years that they've been talking about it?

I just saw this show for the first time last week (I know, I know ) and I absolutely loved it. I was a mess during Act 2, even my mom cried and she didn't like the show all that much. I saw Matt Caplan as Mark and I LOVED him to death. Maggie Benjamin as Maureen was hilarious, too. Loved her 'Over The Moon'.

My favorite part.. MIMI: Angel was one of my closest friends. It's right that it's Halloween, because it was her favorite holiday. I knew we'd hit it off the moment we met - that skinhead was bothering her and she said she was more of a man than he'd ever be and more of a woman that he'd ever get. MARK: ...and then there was the time he walked up to this group of tourists - and they were petrified because, A - they were obviously lost, and B - had probably never spoken to a drag queen before in their lives...and he...she just offered to escort them out of Alphabet City...And then she let them take a picture with her - and then she said she'd help 'em find the Circle Line. MAUREEN: ...so much more original than any of us - you'd find an old tablecloth on the street and make a dress - and next year, sure enough - they'd be mass-producing them at the Gap! You always said how lucky you were that we were all friends - but it was us, baby, who were the lucky ones. *insert me sobbing here*

GAH! Don't I know it! That was the first scene *ever* in any movie/musical, whatever, that made me cry. I saw Christina Fadale as Maureen my first time, and then Leslie Diamond. Both blonde, but oh well...I also saw Idina on an incredibly crappy bootleg ::shhhh:: Her sound has changed *so* much since then...it's just...wow.

I know! From scratchy to clear...but the belting has been there since forever...and I have to say I liked her head voice back then a lot better then now, not saying that I don't like it now of course!

Exactly! I was listening to my RENT cd the other day and thinking she sounded sick...weird how I've never noticed it before. I think the same thing is true with "Still I Can't Be Still" and "Here". It's like she's changed her whole style.

I first listened to the RENT cd when I was like--i dunno---younger. and i didn't know that Idina was the one who played Maureen. I always loved the character, and then was ecstatic when I found out it was IDINA!!!! Over the Moon completely rox my sox! I also like Take Me or Leave Me as well. I wish I'd had the pleasure of seeing Idina in it, but...I'm happy that she was in the original, so I can listen to the CD!
