Random question, and I wasn't sure where to post it... does anyone know if Baum ever actually said in his books that the WWotW was green? or did MGM invent that? I was just curious..

No, the WWoW isn't even green in the book. I believe MGM created her as a green witch, though I could be mistaken. But I know for sure that she was not green in the book.

In one pic she appears as yellow-green, which MGM could have looked at, but for the most part greenness was MGM's creativity, they did it to make her look different & they were throwing in color everywhere they could to show off, hence the Ruby Slippers

She's not green; I think MGM did that to antagonize her more, as well as take advantage of the fact that they were making a COLOR MOVIEAAAAAH!!! Just take an idea and run with it, I guess. Hence all the, um...colors. But she is afraid of the dark, in the book, which really amused me. -gyps

Since she doesn't like water, silly! Hagrid always reminded me of that, with his silly little umbrella. He and Elphie, they should hook up...if it weren't for Fiyero...and the melting...err... -gyps

Ahhh! That lady from the "Weakest Link"! I love her! She's awesome. And she reminds me of my third grade teacher, which is sort of weird because my third grade teacher was one of the nicest people I have ever met. But I've heard the Weakest Link lady is actually really nice...she is only mean for the show...

Thats an...um...interesting picture. Not at all what we're used to. But certainly...artistic. It reminds me of Yubaba from the Japanese movie "Spirited Away".

No problem!
I read the book, and while I didnt exactly picture the Wicked Witch the way she looks in the movie, I sure didn't picture her as old. I guess I just pictured her as a witch, run-of-the-mill freaky looking witch. Tall and scary looking. ^_^ Changed my mind when I read Wicked, though
