Alright, enough, so be it! You win this round...Let Verdigris be agreed, I'm wicked through and through since I cannot suceed, Cate, in beating you I promise...
WTF am I talking about? I promise nothing! Ahahaha... I guess you brought up enough points to convince me that your argument is indeed more correct then mine. I just tend to notice the differences more then similarities. -gyps

Nah, I notice differences a lot too, but I just think Elphie was left more or less alone as compared to characters like Boq and Fiyero. Elphie rocks my combat boots.

Which brings up the topic of book Yero and musical Yero. Likewise Book Boq (hee! say it out loud!) and Musical Boq. I'd love to know what people think about that?
Now, is that a discussion for this thread, or the Grimmerie?

Now, is that a discussion for this thread, for the Grimmerie, or Hoi Palloi? Hmmm...I would say Grimmiere or Dorm. I definately think the characterization will be discussed along with the book club, but we can start that before. Rock my boots, Elphie.

*bump*
Anybody else see any more about themselves in any character? Or just have something to say about a character in general?
*still holds that she is an Elphie/Glinda hybrid*

I used to be one of those people who only wanted to be just like the Glinda's in our schools. I thought that being like that would be the only way to make friends. (This was when I was in 4th grade or so, so it's nothing recent, mind you.) -gyps

While we must all bow down to Elphie's combat boots and all around coolness. And Fiyero's good looks and impulsiveness. And G(a)linda's well.. goodness. My favorite character ( from the musical ) is the Wizard, I dunno.. I like the rogue in him. *Spoiler* And I especially liked the plot twist at the end when G(a)linda gave him the green bottle. The shock and sorrow on Joel Gray's face just had me in tears. */Spoiler* Plus he dances with Elphaba while she's wearing combat boots. Now that takes guts.

The whole time, during the show when I saw it the first time, (starting at 'The Wizard and I') I kept saying to myself " Don't get attached to this wonderful, amazing character, you already know how her story ends. She dies, Dorothy kills her, don't get attached." Her character was jut so fantastic, amazing, beautiful, ambitious...I could not believe this was the same Witch of the West we all knew before. -gyps

I was so happy when: (SPOILER IN BLACK) Yero came out and was like "It worked!"

Nobody could ever have imagined how the Wicked Witch's character grew up. It's so sad though, the story of her life. The ending made me have a lot of mixed feelings though. SPOILER I cried when Fiyero came back and we learned she didn't really melt out of such happiness that she finally got something she really wanted but then I realized that even though she got Fiyero, she had to leave Glinda, the only friend she ever had and then that just made me cry more! It sucks to have to lose your friend because of the pressure society puts on you! Her character is sort of like a role model not to give up if you're an outcast because someday your time will come.

Hmm....I think I am a mix of Elphie, Galinda and Nessa. There's a dash of Fiyero in there too. Elphie because I stand up for causes I believe in and nothing I do ever seems to turn out right. Galinda because I care way too much about what people think of me and I definitely have excited Galinda moments (like the entire beginning of the Popular scene). Nessa because I am always falling for the wrong guy, only to have my heart broken when I find out that he likes someone else (usually someone I am friends with). Of course....I don't usually cast spells on them and accidently shrink their hearts. But now that I think of it........ And Fiyero, well what can I say? I like to dance through life . I also tried not to get attached to Elphie because of what I knew was bound to happen. I did NOT see that ending coming! I was sobbing when she got melted but as soon as Fiyero knocked and said it worked, I started laughing uncontrollably all the while still crying. My friend thought I was nuts! Spoiler here: Did anyone else completely forget about the Wicked Witch of the East being the Witch of the West's sister? I didn't make the connection between Nessa and The Wicked Witch of the East until the actual "Wicked Witch of the East" scene and then I was like, "Wait a minute...NO!!!!! THEY'RE GONNA DROP A HOUSE ON NESSA!!!!!! End of spoiler ~~~Amy~~~
