Let's see...I guess I sort of qualify as classical...
I've played the piano for 9 years now, and I'm a lyrical/belt soprano depending on the style of what I'm singing...basically I can sing either the Elphie or Glinda part and sound like two different people depending. Currently I'm teaching myself to sing/play Easy as Life from Aida...I guess the hardest thing about that piece is that the accompanitment rhythm totally clashes with the vocal part so I literally feel like I'm fighting with myself. Things my teachers won't let me do....my piano teacher won't let me learn anything Broadway during lesson season and my voice teacher won't let me belt...or sing anything other than Italian arias...Suffice it to say I'm *very* glad it's summer and I'm not taking lessons right now...

I play flute and beginning to learn piano. In voice I'm a soprano one all the way. I can belt somewhat but my voice is more qualified for opera. By myself I'm working on Glitter and Be Gay ;D my voice coach is helping me somewhat on it when we have time during our sessions. Things my voice coach won't let me do, hmm. Mainly belting, but in a few months (because I just started training with her) she said we could try and work in some Broadway. But for now it's strictly opera.

I play flute. Fun times, except when they don't have the music you want and you have to buy the vocal music just to be able to play the songs. Things my director won't let me do: sit in the front at basketball games. We flutes have to sit behind all the brass people and some lucky flutes and all the saxophones.

I also play the flute. Ditto with the basketball games. Right now, though, the challenge is that there is no challenge. My school doesn't have a formal band that isn't a class, so the only band I have is pep band and we don't try to play it well (musically speaking, like dynamics). One member is trying to get a formal band together, but so far we don't have enough people. Hopefully some incoming freshmen will join us. I like doing the fun songs we do in pep band, but sometimes it's nice to do a song that tests your musical skills (and for flutes, your fingers!)

yeah... im a hard core singer. I am a lyric/ dramatic/colorataura soprano.... i don't know which one it is yet because i am still in high school... and i have many qualities of each voice part. I also play piano... and for me, it is a lot harder that singing... I like piano because there r more notes that can be played.... even though I have an ensainly large range.... (a little over 4 8ves)... I really wanna learn glitter and be gay, or queen of the night.... but my teachers wont let me..... in piano right now i am working on the moonlight sonota... it is very hard. the thing that my piano teacher wont let me do is play accomponyment. She wants me to learn peaces that show piano..... so i guess i just wont tell her that i have all these bway books at homw that I play and sing...... hehe. I also play the harp... but my teacher is really cool, as long as it isn't too hard she lets me do it.... i like her, she is in the pit of 42nd street.... i wonder why i like her so much??
you flute players are lucky, i used to play the flute... but due to a nickle alergy I had to quit.....

I play Voilin,Cello,Clarenet, and Piano.Cello and Clarenet I can play 3 songs on.Voilin I am playing A LOT of songs...like 37...yes 37.Piano I am having a hard time keeping the right and left hand parts on up on the house. In voice I am doing Star Vichino,an Itallian piece that has a lot of vibrato in it to make it sound good.It also has a two C's above middle C note.I can't say what I am in voice,I am only 11 so I wouldn't know.

Play in sections.I am to learn a version, not an easier one,of Canon in D,and I would NEVER e alble to play it without it in sections. Also,in some prts where the rythms might be hard to get together, plat both ands seperatly, then together. You probably already do this, but if the tempo is hard, tap your foot.I really hope I helped, but I am not the greatest piano player, but I do me best to help.

hey guys, ok so i really think that my piano teacher is insane. She wants me to learn George Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue". its like 31 pgs long!!!! do ne of u have ne pointers? Thanks! Practice. A lot. I'm not sure if I'm neccessarily "classical" but I figured I'd post anyway. I'ved played piano for around 7 years. I also play trombone (but not this year) and I've played that for about 3 years. In singing I'm most comfortable in the baritone range but if needed I can drop to bass or raise to the tenor part also. Currently... Too many songs in piano, nothing in trombone right now, and in choir we're singing Betelehemu and You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch. I don't take voice lessons yet, though I know I need to. ;D
