I was listening to the Into the Woods Revival CD in the car and I was like "Oh, my God. There are so many similiarties in this and Wicked...I NEED TO POST THIS!!" so here we go. And if anyone wants to add onto this or post for a different musical, go ahead. I think it would be fun to see...
- Witches
- Good/Evil concept
- rewritten classic tales
- unexpected plot twist (ties in w/ the one above)
- talking animals (wolves, Dillamond)
- destruction of a "wicked" creature (Elphie, the Giant's wife)
- Princes having affairs (Fiyero w/ Glinda & Elphie, The Prince w/ Cinderella & Baker's Wife)
- death(s) of main characters (*sorta for elphie*)
thats about all I can remember coming up with. I thought it was so funny to think of all these similarities between the two musicals.
