We have this thing at my school called "One Acts" and it's a play made up of short comedy skits written, acted, and directed by students. My friend wrote a Wicked-ified one! It was great, llam. She put in the opening line ("It's good to see me, isn't it? etc. etc.), she had a popular girl make over an unpopular girl, she had someone ask a question about defying gravity in science class, llam. Unfortunately me and her will probably be the only ones who find it funny. Everyone else will just be like "huh?" lol.

lol I had to do a project on a big event in American History for my Social Studies class and of course I picked te closest thing to Wicked as possible: The Salem Witch Trials!! llam So I did my presentation today..and stayed on topic but as my attention getter..I played the beggining of "March of the Witch Hunters" lol cuz it went perfect with my project and I got my friends to like run across the room pretending to be witch hunters and singing the words..lol. Everyone else thought we were SOO WEIRD! and my teacher was just laughing at us the whole time.
Then in my posterboard..there was a quote that said "people have confused witchraft in popular mind with green faces, black pointy hats, and broomsticks.." and of course I had to put in 2 VERY LARGE pictures of Idina as Elphie that took up half of my posterboard as my example...lol it was so fun. ANND I got a 98!!! The highest grade in the class so far!! WOO go me and Wicked! lol
Oh yea and at the end i said "Pictures and music provided my the musical Wicked playing at the Gerswin Theatre in NYC" just to be obnoxious..lol my friends cheered.

One day in math class we all started using big words: bombey, bombilate, lugobrious (sp), and then I was like hoi polloi...lol...it was fun!

So yesterday my History teacher went to see "Wicked." And he came back gushing about it! He loved it! So the convo went like this:
Mr. K: Oh Steph! I saw "Wicked" yesterday. Me: Really? What did you think? Mr. K: It was excellent. Best I've seen in a long time. Me: I know! Mr. K: And the actress that played Elphaba. Amazing. I have a crush on her. Me: Idina Menzel, right? Mr. K: Yeah! She's gorgeous! And what a voice. But Glinda was someone else. Me: Laura Bell Bundy. Mr. K: Yeah, yeah. She was great. Pretty voice. How did you know that? Me: "Wicked" is my favorite play, what do you think? Mr. K: *Laughs* Well, I'm definitely seeing it again. And I'm bringing my daughter. She'd love it. Me: Yay!
Yay for the coolness of my History teacher. LLAM.
Another...so I'm helping my cousin (who is in tenth grade) with her vocab. And this one word came up...
6. Nefarious- Infamous by way of being extremely wicked.
So I started giggling non-stop. It was just too funny. But it gets better. There was a section where you had to fill-in the blanks. Here's the correct sentence:
6. A nefarious old witch was always popular with children's authors.
It was too perfect. I starting cracking up. And my cousin was looking at me like I had two heads.

Ahh! That's funny. My teachers talk to me about Wicked too! During my Creative Writing class, we often go into the computer lab to type up our stories and I'm always on Verdigris or some kind of Wicked website. So the teacher always announces loudly "LAYLA, ARE YOU OBSESSING OVER WICKED AGAIN?" and everyone gives me a weird look because most people at my school are Broadway-challenged and they have no clue what the teacher is talking about.

Today in one of my classes my teacher was like "You could just skate through life.." and 'Dancing Through Life' started playing in my head, of course.

in math class today, someone asked a question and then all of the sudden i hear my teacher say "no that wouldnt work, that would be defying gravity" OH MY GOD...i dont think ive ever heard those 2 words used 1 after another..i mean ive heard gravity a zillion times, the same with defy...but the 2 words together used by a teacher having nothing to do with wicked??? haha woaahhh i totally flipped out and defying gravity was stuck in my head the whole period and i couldnt concentrate on anything!!
also in chorus, for the second half of the period, me, caitlinda4l, and phantomofwicked go onto this board and the entire class calls us "wicked groupies" or the "wicked fan club" and for some reason they have a problem with us going onto this site..hah and they all seem to think we have no lives...maybe they should listen to the CD and they would become obsessed too! i mean who wouldnt?!?
