It came out in select theaters Dec. 22 and it will come out nationwide Jan. 22. I think it's the 21st. I'd be so mad if we weren't by a select city, having to wait that long for this wonderful movie. thanks u guys!!!!!! The site is amasing........ I bought the sound track, and it really is good..... I prefer the OBC recording.... but it is definatly a good recording and great interpretation of the songs.

I heard soo much about this movie from my obsessed friends, so i took my mom to go see it, and we loved it! I liked the Broadway show, but it wasnt my fav (obv because wicked it  ) but the movie was excellent!!!! |

Totally loved the movie. Even though I'm an OLC snob And even though they missed the scene during Masquerade where Christine dances around and sees the Phantom in every face and gets scared and Raoul catches her in his arms. I wanted to see it in the movie, but I guess it was just a stagemusical thing. |

The movie is bloody amazing. And might I just add that Gerard Butler (the man who played the Phantom) was so so so so gorgeous. Maybe it was just me...tee hee. I absolutly love this movie.

I've seen it twice, and I'm going again Friday when it opens everywhere.
It really was good. Though...my friends and I are a tad bit weird and we kept making fun of Patrick Wilson (sorry, it's just that when he jumps on the white horse...gah, it was so stereotypically suave-hero-to-the-rescue).
Gerard Butler is very hansome, and I loved Minnie Driver. And even if you aren't a fan of the musical, I suggest seeing it just for the visiuals, as I think it's beautifully done.

when we went to see PoTO n NYC, we met Hugh Pandrando (<---sp??).
neway, i was dissapionted that he wasnt going to be the phantom, but Gerald was so great!!!
The film is beautiful, its worth seeing more than once!!

Hugh Panaro is my favorite Phantom! I love his voice and he is a wonderful actor. What a shame he isn't in the movie , but Gerard isn't bad. |

yeah, you know i was really surprised at all these ppl saying Gerard was the worst thing they've ever heard, when there are cleary much worse out there (-cough-William Hung-cough-). I personallly have never seen the broadway show of PotO but I enjoyed the movie a lot (though I went with a friend who lives and breathes Phantom, and I was about to STRANGLE HER because she was critiquing the stupidest things like " that line should be different!" My God, it was like my obsession with RENT or Wicked, which I like to think I'm a bit over obsessed with, but this was a new level of obsessioN! anyways, sorry about that rant...)

i thought that gerard was an incapable erik. he could only play the insane side of the phantom and didn't capture the romance, strugle, or mystery of the role. this may have been a director's choice, but i didn't think it was a wise one. i also thought the dancing in the point of no return was stupid.

The visuals are stunning and it's just a beautiful, beautiful movie. I had no problems with Gerard until the end when his voice got real rough and raspy. Minnie Driver was hysterical and I didn't expect much from Patrick Wilson, but he was very, very good. And of course, Emmy Rossum completely blew me away. The movie was just fantastic. |

I have just one complaint about Gerard along those lines. He didn't play the Phantom in such a way that you feel sorry for him. You just feel like he doesn't deserve Christine. Hugh Panaro does a much better job with that aspect. |
