Yay for thirteen year olds! I really don't think it should be rated R, but it probably will be because some people are so closed minded and don't think that kids can take it, or they don't want their kids to get the idea that people live like that, (well, the lower east side isn't really like that anymore) or whatever. It's really a shame that it will probably be rated R because everyone can get so much from it, I know I did.

I do think its a shame its rated R but I have to say, I think it mostly will be rated R for the swearing. Even I think there are a couple to many uses of those words. I don't mean to sound like I have a stick up my butt or anything, but they sort of after a while just loosely started throwing swears in, and it probably could get away with PG13 w/out them

Bear in mind that Rent also has some really 'mature' themes-- drug use, AIDS, stripping/prostitution, premarital sex, boy/boy and girl/girl love, transgendering, etc. For the record, I think it's shameful that homosexuality and such are grounds for a tougher rating, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's part of the reason why it'll be rated R. Of course, we'll see Mimi shooting up and maybe April killing herself, and those could be bad enough on their own...

Yeah..Mom and I believe that we'll have to drive 4 hours away just to see RENT because Eastern KY has so many uber-religious people...they're all homo-phobic(the kids at school say that I'm gay because I like RENT).So...yeah,I can see why it's rated R,and why some theatres are gonna refuse to have it in their theatres.

AHHHH! I cannot beileve it, I just watched. AHH! It looks so good, I cannot wait now, new topic for conversation. Ha ha, half the people weren't who I thought they were, any idea who the redhead was with Mark? I don't remember him having a girlfriend or anything in the musical?

My dad loved the play when we saw it (see story awhile back) and I showed him the trailer and now he is demanding we go into the city again soon with my mom to see it! lol, very weird. He said he'll definitly taje me even if its R because he liked it that much. I don't know whats gotten into my usually strict father...lol

My mom may have to sneak me out of the house to see it. Nah, probably not, but as pitiful as this is, it will probably the first R movie I'll see. Sad, isn't it? And I'm 15!
