DisneyFanatic-- let us know what you find!
Jade-- Really? PM me or something with details...I'm still trying to figure out how foreign tours and companies differ from the American ones of Rent, what with ethnicities, lyrical changes (especially in translation), and overall relevancy to other places.

DisneyFanatic - did you see the Broadway show or a tour or a local production? The Broadway show is the only version that used the "vortex" because it has to be custom-made to fit the theatre, so tours don't use it, and it's difficult for a local production to do it. The tour I saw had JoJo in bed and he finds the hat in his bed, then it splits or something to that affect and the cat appeared - I don't remember how it went exactly, as it was a couple years ago.

It was a school production, the vortex thing makes sense, thanks! And my google search was un-successful for the record.

In our camp production, Jojo just picked up the hat, walked over to stage left while saying his monolouge and waving the hat around a little, the cat grabbed the hat and put it on from backstage, and Jojo "pulled" the cat onto the stage. Very cute for a camp with such limited resources! (We also cut out many of the good songs for lack of time, so...)

I saw ur musical on video! It was good, but Dee (the Grinch) was thanked for her wonderful Christmas show, although the show wasn't even in the musical! Don't really get that change...
