End of month, not end of week. I should have time after this weekend, except on Wednesday- two major tests the next day. We're workign as hard as we can, but I promised to help out with Nutcracker this year (not in it like I was last year).

Hey guys! With Christmas well on the way, and a new chapter soon after that, I thought it was only fitting that we give you a little gift to tide you over. So, without further adu, I give you... NEW CHARACTER PICS! *crickets chirp* Well, I liked the idea. Our characters have changed alot since we first saw them, and their looks have as well. So, I posted a pick of what I think they look like now. As you all know, Fae's pretty much gone darkside on us. Her hairs shorter, and while her clothes still contain hints of girliness, her black boots and black outfit show she's all butt kicking business. This is Blaise, in a chapter or two after he has healed and gotten new threads. You'll understand what I mean later. ;D And finally, Ali. A little softer after all she has been through, and a little wiser as well. One of Amirio before the 'accident' coming soon!

Here are some of Ali and Fae after the first chapter when we started writing together (almost a year ago!): verdigris.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=fanfic&action=display&thread=1105925938&page=2There are some of Desmona... I'll find them now:http://verdigris.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=fanfic&action=display&thread=1105925938&page=14 That's all we have. Oh, and just to clarify- Ali has NEVER been green. She's really pale, like her aunt was. Her mother is the green lady.

HAPPY DAY! A NEW CHAPTER! ;D ;D ;D _____________________________________
Fae made her way quickly down the green cobblestone streets, her dark black cape covering her features. The entire city was asleep, waiting for the next dreary day. Yet her senses were alive, prickling with each sound or breeze. Her small feet carried her closer and closer to the palace. Her plan was made. Do or die, this was her destiny. She was going to meet it head on. Had she really be the girl who had thought she could save Oz? So naive, so ignorant, so unknowing. No, conformity was the way. She could work from the inside; make Oz the way SHE wanted it to be. Deposing of the powers that be would be simple enough. The people would follow her as they did her mother: blindly. She would do what she had to. There were no more rules anymore. The rain was pouring, making the streets slick. The drops echoed mournfully, and she pitied them. Pitied them for wasting their tears on Oz, on the good, on her. Didn't they see? Didn't anyone see she had to do this? Didn't anyone realize that she had knocked on every door and been denied? No matter if they didn't. Soon, everyone would see. She had over heard the people talking. He sounded weak, almost unbelievably so. He ruled in name of the Darkness, didn't manipulate it. He obviously wasn't talented in the ways of sorcery. Once she had turned, she had found the darkness willing and ready to be molded into her will. She didn't have to work for the good of the people, merely the benefit of herself. The darkness nearly asked for her compliance and acceptance of it, and she could have anything. Power, might, respect... all but love. 'Love is for the weak,' she thought bitterly, her mind racing with images of him. He had held her back. He had kept her in the light. He had embraced her, loved her. Now all that was there to hold her was the dark, and she danced the dance with it. The palace gates were locked, almost impossibly so. Impossible, that is, to the average citizen. Her heightened powers made it child's play. With the turn of her hand, it fell with a clank to the floor. She stood still, not breathing until she was sure no one had heard. When she was satisfied, she slipped in stealthily, and shut the gate back behind her. The time had come. Time to satisfy the revenge that tugged at her heart. Time to take control. ******************************************** Eamond Harijk leaned against the palace doorframe, bored out of his skull. Life had been interesting while he had guarded the palace halls, but after the incident with that demon witch girl- whatever her name was- his demotion had been rather swift. He had humiliated his name, his honor, and his family. Being put on the night door guard was quite possibly one of the worst jobs available in the palace. However, he needed the pay- he already had to work another job besides his guard job. He then heard the sound of steps outside the door, and quickly stood up again and looked at his partner, whose name he didn’t know yet. They both prepared to fight the intruder, but they felt their bodies fly backwards and the heavy doors hit them before they could react. A short figure cloaked in black, her quiet chants barely audible, walked into the palace like she owned the place. She took down her hood, and he saw a mass of curls flying every which way. 'Mistress Fae,' he gasped, before he felt his airway closing. His last sight was that of Fae Upland, her dress tattered and torn, her hair dirty and choppily cut, smiling an evil smirk before she walked upstairs. ******************************************** Kaboom! The sounds of thunder echoed throughout the dark forest, and Ali shuddered. They had been walking though the dark rain for hours, but now it was beginning to drain her even more than it had before. One foot slipped in the mud, and she stumbled, but remained on her feet. She turned around to check on Blaise, and he seemed to be doing well, except for a limp that he couldn't shake. Ali jogged back. 'You're sure you can make it?" He gritted his teeth. 'Yes, I'm positive. Now lets keep moving, or we'll never find her," he said with a dark, fierily passion burning in his eyes. They continued their journey, but Ali made sure she stayed near Blaise. His knee seemed to go out occasionally, but he always recovered quickly. They finally got to a point where Ali's energy was almost totally expended, and Blaise's body seemed to be giving him ore trouble, until they both knew they had to stop for the night. They came to a tree, and Ali quickly set up a makeshift shelter. Living in the mountains her whole life had really taught her a lot, for which she was very grateful. As she began to try and magic up a fire in the tent, she saw a body slumped over not too far away. ‘Blaise, I’ll be back There’s something strange over there,” she said as she tied on her old, worn cloak. She gathered the material around herself before she began her brisk walk, the rain still pouring down from the sky in drops that seem to ooze hopelessness and despair. She kept her head down, trying to keep the thing her sights. As she got nearer, the feeling of foreboding grew and grew deep in the pit of her stomach. “Keep yourself together, Ali,” she commanded herself, but it couldn’t stop the shaking of her limbs that wouldn’t stop. She broke into a run, the feeling growing into outright panic. “Don’t let it be him. Sweet Oz, don’t let it be him,” she said, her eyes beginning to cloud with the pieces beginning to click into place in her head. She ran, faster and faster, her tears mingling with the raindrops. Her boots would lose traction in the slick mud and on the wet underbrush, but she kept up her pace. The rain quickened its pace. Finally, she was there, and Ali knew. “Dad, are you there? Come on, wake up!” she coaxed, her tears adding to the moisture all over Fiyero’s body. ******************************************** The coldness of the palace felt unnatural, the scent old, stale, and wet. It was as if someone had cast a spell upon her home, changing its beauty into something of lore. Her heart welcomed the lack of familiarity, the unusual quiet and solitude. Her hands ran across the wall as she walked her way slowly to the throne room. She needn't hurry. Fae had all the time in the world. Her laugh was cold as she thought about how easy it had been to kill the guards. The pinprick of remorse grew ever smaller, till now it hardly hurt her at all. The reward- safety, freedom from pain, her friends’ lives- far outweighed their pathetic carcasses. Human life's value was shattered. Caring was useless. The darkness was like a veil over her heart, she had come to find. It kept her protected, and kept her warm. It gave her power, and it gave her a new face. She might as well have a different identity.Roaming through this darkness, she was alive. Her heart was beating, her blood flowing with exhilaration, but she, though she wouldn't admit it, was utterly alone. Fae was almost to the throne room. Though night couldn't be told from day now, she new that whoever this new... monarch was, he surely was up by now. She'd make his death merciful and quick, and she'd move with an iron fist to take the power and keep it. 'After all,' she thought with a sadistic chuckle, 'I always was going to inherit the throne.' The large stone doors- had they always been stone? - Were locked shut and to a mere mortal seemed impossible to move. However, she wasn't your run of the mill girl, and the new powers she had helped as well. With a flick of her wrist, a gust blew from the windows, the doors slamming open and cracking down the middle. She could tell she had startled whoever was sitting up on ahead. Good. She had the element of surprise. Fae moved agonizingly slow towards her prey. Her hood concealed her facial features, and she could see just enough of the figure to realize he was cowering in fear. "Guards!" the man's voice yelled, but his throat was quickly closed in. She pulled him through the air towards her, and gave a brief smirk when she saw who it was. Granted, she was particularly surprised that he had weaseled his way here, but the fact that he had managed to keep himself hidden from her for this long was amazing. "Hello... father." With that, she sent him flying into the wall. The battle for control had begun. ******************************************** Amirio was still in his chair, drifted off into an uneasy sleep before he felt Desmona walk up behind him and grab onto the chair. "Sleep well, straw boy?" she sneered. "Just fine, thanks," he replied with a tone that was as biting as hers. "Try the chair," Amirio shot back. Desmona however chose to ignore him. "We should be hailed as the rulers of this place. No, scratch that, we WILL be rulers of this place. Can you imagine it? Me being Queen Desmona. It has a nice ring to it, don't ya..." she paused, her body swiveling doors to the doors, and her eyes fluttering shut. “What’s wrong with you?” he asked. “We've got company," Desmona said, her voice hushed and her eyes shot open
