Exactly And good to know I'm not alone. When we went to see it last week, my friend was crying by the end of " Dancing Through Life", so ya'll are DEFINITELY not alone. And I couldn't say anything because I'm a little teary by "I'm Not That Girl"

Dancing Through Life? Was it because of Norbert's incredible cuteness, or the fact that Glinda decides to befriend Elphaba? I could have cried during that part; it's so mean what they do to her!

My friend cried because of the second thing....he thought it was very sweet.
He actually thought Norbert looked kinda old. Shhh....don't tell though. I told him it was the lighting and the angle we were watching at.

Thank god they stick a joke in there (in this case Morrible's coming along with the umbrella) or I'd be bawling, hehe.

I cry everytime Elphie gets upset or embarassed or made fun of. I'm pathetic, but it's just soooo sad!

When I went I was bawling during For Good, because it's just such a beautiful song. Lyrically and musically. I just love it so much. My sister was like"What is wrong with you!!".I just couldnt help it! -Colleen

I think the whole changing harmonies thing in for good has symbolic meaning, actually. If you think about it, in all the other songs, Idina has gone down and Kristin has gone up. Maybe this was done to show that they really have been "changed" in a sense; changed so much that they switched harmonies. Just something to ponder...

I might have to agree with you!I never thought about it that way before. I always thought they were just showing how both of the girls are amazingly talented and can hit notes both high and low. I also think that anyone who could play the parts of Elphaba and Glinda well deserve a round of applause to be able to hit the notes those Glinda notes and to hold those Elphaba notes! The harmonies can be pretty hard too!Props to the girls! -Colleen

It does make a lot of sense when you think about it that way . Anyway, if we are discussing parts of the show that made us cry, I bawl from For Good all the way until curtain call. And "I'm Not That Girl" made me teary eyed. Hits a little too close to home, not to mention the song is just beautiful. Oh, and I got teary-eyed at the end of Defying Gravity. Spoiler: There's just something about watching Elphaba go flying above the stage and the music swelling and it just overwhelmed me to the point of tears. End of spoiler. ~~~Amy~~~

From Broadway.com's interview with Kristin Chenoweth I know you don't sing as much as you have in some shows, but is it a difficult role vocally and acting-wise?Vocally, the role starts coloratura soprano, and as it goes on Glinda gets more heart and it was important for me to show the depth of her soul. That meant getting a lower range. I sing all over the map, which is challenging. What's even harder is the emotional journey that Glinda goes on. That's what leaves me worn out. You can't help but love her-I hope-but by the end you see why she becomes good. Of course she has issues, like most women…and men. ------------------------------------------- How I love "For Good"

Defying Gravity is a great song for many reasons. 1) Its a beautiful song,2) It's a huge turning point in the play, and 3) it is a perfect ending to the first act!I love that song so much, although I love everysong... -Colleen

I have to say that I like Defying Gravity, but I voted for "other" (One Short Day). I love the cast singing and it's so upbeat. When I'm down, it lifts me up, especially b/c it pops into my head when I see my desktop.

I would have to say that my favorite song is The Wizard and I, but a close second is Defying Gravity because both show how well Idina can belt out the songs. Both songs give me a thrill when I listen to them, and hearing it live increases that thrill. ;D
