Is the new tie in book worth buying?? I'm not interested in getting another copy of Wicked with a different cover and pictures that I already have on my computer. Are the pictures in it already online?
Worth while?

Well, I can say for a fact that all of the pics are online. I have both books in my house, and there isn't any difference between the day minus the pics and cover. If you're not interested in getting the broadwayified version of the book just for the pics, then I don't think it'd be worth it in this case.

If you don't feel it necessary then don't buy it. We have both in our house because we were both reading it at the same time so I went out and bought another one and since the tie-in book was the same price as the other one I figured what the heck so I bought that one. But to buy it just for the pictures, you can honestly find the pictures anywhere online and in the big program book and the cover is on the CD and that's my opinion.

Yeah. Someone had told me there were new, unreleased pics in the book... I saw it in the store and took a glance through it. There's nothing new in there if you have the souvenier photo brochure.

Oh yeah I had forgotten that the Emerald City thing is in the book. Yeah so no new pics. It would be nice if they could release some new pics though.

Yeah, I mean I have it and when my friend saw it, he was uber jealous but it's just some pictures. Nothing new, nothing anyone hasn't seen yet.

I flipped through it and there were some pictures I hadn't seen and some that were "expanded" versions of online pictures. If you have the book already, I don't think it's worth it, unless you like having several copies of a book.

If you're really, freakishly obsessed [like me] the book is worthwhile. I think the pictures thing is really cute. I have two books just so that when someone asks to borrow it to read it, I'll still have a copy. Because somebody is borrowing it from me right now, and then I have 3 other people lined up that want to read it, llam. Spread the Wicked gospel!

I bought it. There's actually one pic that I hadn't seen before. And I love the quotes that go along with the pics. It's a really good idea. So now I have both versions.

*raises an eyebrow* Sounds like I may need to re-think my "don't buy the new book" thing... especially since my roommate wants to borrow my other copy over the summer...

Yeah, I have two copies cause I like reading it over and over and I have a list of 3 people lined up to read it after my friend who's reading it right now. So I have two, one that I lend out and one I don't.

Oh, it's definately a good book! I've read it about 5 times. It's very different from the musical, though, so don't go into it expecting something like the script of the show or anything even close to that. But definately read it if you have a chance to get it.

The book is really good, although it's VERY different from the musical. And jsut to be clear, the "musical tie-in" version is exactly the same as the original printing, but with pics from the musical, and instead of the original cover, the cover is the musical logo...or whatever...with Glinda whispering in a smiling Elphie's ear.

Well, I picked up the tie-in book today afterall. I'm out for the weekend at my boyfriend's college and we decided to take an impromptu trip to Border's books... after browsing oh so briefly, I decided to give in and buy it- my second copy of the book, (the pictures ARE ones like online, but they're very high quality. Greg is most pleased because now he gets to keep my old copy of Wicked.
