today i think i bought the old copy of wicked..but i relaly want the new tie-in book..ohh well..i will survive

The fastest way to tell if it's the new or old version is just to look at the cover. If you have the Wicked musical logo, (Glinda whispering in to Elphaba's ear) then you have the tie-in edition. Plus, the tie-in has pictures in the center.

Well, hey, the old version is awesome too. And the story is indentical in both editions. It's just given a shiny "musicalized" packaging in the new version. Plus, I'm actually pretty fond of the old hole-in-the-center cover... it's SO interesting how it tells so much about the story without having to read a page.
