I personally like both of them but musical Boq is kinda my favorite because he gives a face and a voice to Boq that the book Boq doesnt, though i do like that in the book Boq has a bigger part than in the musical. Plus I like that he isnt turned into the tinman

I completly agree. I had read the book before I saw the play and when I saw Boq I was very suprised. The actor was very good but conveyed the wrong impression of Boq but it was good just the same.

I liked bookverse Boq more, but I think that may be because I've read the Wizard of Oz. I like the fact that you always kind of know what he's thinking in the book, and how he's so cordial and nice about everything (see the letters he writes to his Shiz friends in the book...I think Crope and Glinda get them...*can't remember*). Musicalverse Boq annoys me, and the way he acts in Act Two greatly irks me.

I prefer book!Boq as a character, but I love how the musical ties him so integrally into the plot. And I love how dorky musical!Boq is-- it makes for an interesting contrast with Elphaba's own awkwardness.

I don't know, combatting Fae's akwardness or giving her the ultimate power? I can't decide.

Yeah, but it's not like there was any of that in the book, and in the musical Boq falls in with the "she's a terror, she's a Tartar" crowd. In the book, I know, they're friends, but it begins as a means for him to get to then-Galinda, despite that one line of Elphie's. I don't really see any romance going on between them.
