Okay, since the last intro thread got to be hellishly long, I'm opening a new one and locking the old. Ah, how we shall look back fondly on ye, intro poste of olde. Let's try to keep this one on-topic, yes? I'll re-introduce myself, and y'all are welcome to do the same if you'd like, but keep it to one post per user until the Munchkins start rolling in. You're encouraged to give a little welcome wave to new members I'm Aly aka SugarTherapy aka Alynent Thropp aka The Thropp. I am your resident Board Mama. I am 18, hail from the frigid state of Minnesota, and currently reside on Manhattan's Upper East Side. I go to college, major in Acting, and I see Wicked. Often. I've seen the show 5 times, and have no plans to stop. I'm a huge fan of Idina Menzel - have been for the last 6 1/2 years. I've also been a fan of Kristin for a bit, as well as Norbert, and c'mon Joel Grey was on the bestest best show ever (Buffy!). So this show is quite the show for me simply because of who is in it. I also love the story and the music and the characters. While I tend to identify with Elphaba, I think I've got plenty of G(a)linda in me as well. I started this board to go along with my site, which should be up soon. I've been saying that since December, but I really mean it this time! llam This board has, so far, exceeded my highest hopes. It has gone from something I hoped would be at least a little active to a fun, lively place for Wicked folks to hang and enjoy themselves, and I'm so happy that I have all you great folks on my board. So thank you. And with that, I'm handing it off to the next person...

I guess that's me, huh? Hi everyone. I'm Cáitlín aka Cáte aka Cáitlinda aka ElphieThropp aka Crazy. I'm 19 and from Philadelphia PA, where I attend college as a Public Relations major with a theater minor. I love singing, acting, and although I have two left feet, dancing. My introduction to "Wicked" started over a year ago during a school production of "The Wiz" when the school's head of athletics told me his neice was going to be in a show about the witches of Oz. He couldn't remember the name of the show, but I told him I would certainly be willing to go see it as my family has a cultish obsession with the Judy Garland movie. So the months roll by and I find the Wicked CD on Amazon, and told my mother I would like it for Christmas, without even putting two and two together. That happened after I listened to the CD once or twice and went "oh my god, I think Mr. H's neice is in this show!" I was right...and on Jan 24 I got to see Wicked for the first time. Love at first note...*sigh* Anywho, I'm probably one of the more outgoing members who will not hesitate to be frank, so watch yourselves. Just kidding...I'm very nice....most of the time. I identify most with Elphie, as I too was one of the "loserfreaks" in high school, but let me tell you how college is so different, mainly cause I live on a floor made up of all "loserfreaks." w00t for the Honors kids! However, many will tell you how I have adopted a "glindified" personality for this forum. Oh yeah, I'm left handed like Idina. And this is my pet Winkie, Yero the Wonder Winkie. No body touches him. Kk...'nuff about me. Who's next?

Hey ya'll...I've already introduced myself ages ago, but for all ya Munchkins, here's the dish: I am Jaelena aka ChancetoFly aka Chance aka one of your friendly neighborhood BoZ (don't know what they are? Check under the Time Dragon Clock). Along with my fellow BoZ Cate, I help keep some semblance of order here in Munchkinland. I also try to keep things pretty over in the gallery. Oh! I'm an Ama too, so if anyone needs anything, PM away kids. (What's an Ama you say. There's a thread in Munchkinland for ya I'm a 21 year old (by the time most of you read this I'll be 21 so whatev...my birthday is in a little over an hour) out-of-work actress who gets by in the world working in retail. I just graduated from an acting/musical theatre conservatory at the end of of January. I live in New York, and have made some pretty cool friends off this board. Enjoy the playspace, guys....it's a pretty great board. her Throppness has done a studpendous job. Just remember to observe the rules and we'll all get along fabulously Oh, and no one touches Cate's Winkie, but she does lend him out for a few hours at a time on special occassions Enjoy all!

I'm SaSa, or Sarah or Madam Sarrible. I'm seemingly like the NY version of Cate, seeing as I'm a Public Relations major with a Theatre minor BUT I differentiate, cause I also have an English minor. I'm twenty years old, and I heart Wicked.
I didn't mean to like the show. I hate the Wizard of Oz, but when one can score tickets to a broadway show for ten bucks, one does. So I did. But that's ok cause since then I have more than made up for my lack of cost in the past few times since I've seen the show.
I've also gotta accredit Wicked to making me so pretty schnazzy new buddies. This board really does rock and I'm proud to be a part of it, and even more thrilled to be The Thropp's Offical Press Secretary

Gosh it's good to be home! (On the board I mean- no not real home--I WANT TO STAY IN NEW YORK!) Hullo, I'm Monica aka Mon aka Sister Aelphica, another one of your neighbourhood (notice how I left out the 'friendly'? ) mods. I'm 20, I live in Winnipeg Canada and I have a dangerous Wicked obsession. The obsession is so bad that I just spent next year's tuition on a trip to New York just so I could see the show. I'm a third year History major (don't ask me why) planning on going into journalism to be a theatre critic in the future. Currently I work in a grocery store. I heart Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth and everything about the show. I probably identify most with Elphaba or perhaps Boq as I am rather timid. So incredibly grateful to the members of this board- truly a wonderful group of generous, kind and hilarious people. Only hope everyone has as great a time here as I do. Cheers!

Hey All. Where to start. Where to start. Hmm.. Well my name is Greg. Yes, I am guy ;D . From what I understand they're slightly rare on this board. I'm going to college for Comp Sci in Western NY but am from Upstate originally. I got hooked on Wicked by WiKayed, my girlfriend, when we went to see Phantom and ended up getting Cancelation tickets to the show afterwards. It was nice to finally see what she had been going on non-stop about for the past two months . And yes now that I've seen it I must agree that it is indeed everything she was going on about and more. I have to laugh now when I find myself gushing over it. I own the CD, have read the book, and am still kicking myself for not grabbing the poster when I had the chance. Oh well, we are so going to see it again, so I guess ill grab it then. What am I doing here you ask? Well the answer is, I don't know. I guess I'm just crazy about the show like the rest of you. I don't really write, but enjoy helping others, so if you ever want somebody to proof read or brainstorm with gimme a PM. ( Just not till after Feb 28. I got finals this week . )

Welcome to Verdigris, Greg! And, yes, you guys are quite in the minority here. We have, I think, 2 other males. Three, maybe. I'm so glad you enjoyed the show when you saw it, and maybe next time you see it, I can meet you guys there and say hi!
Good luck on your finals and happy posting!

Welcome, everyone, welcome to the board. Stay a while, or else I'll inflict you with poppiess...poppiessss...poppies will put you to sleep. (ph33r my flower f3tish, like whoaz!) Anyways, I guses I'm going to have to introduce myself yet again. I am gypsy, gypserie (you can capitalize them if you're feeling kind), Ally: aka, THE BABY. I first got to see Wicked when I was in the fall production of 'Inspecting Carol' at my school. I had overheard a conversation between the chorus instructor (who was in charge of the trip) and one of the people going. Now, mostly it was for the chorus class, but I overheard "cheap, broadway show, good reviews, Oz, and Witch of the West," so I asked and they let me go anyways. I went with one of my very close friends, who I met this year, as well as...two whole busloads of kids. I see the show, RUN downstairs during intermission, knocking over all these old people, and buy the cd, get back to my seat, see the rest, listen to it on the bus, and cry my eyes out. Since then I have only seen it one more time, but I plan to see it many more times as well. For a wierd fun fact, I am a trapeze artist, and served as makeshift, underage trapeze staff at my sleepaway camp this summer. I also sing when no one is home to listen, or at Tara's, whatever is available. I ride horses and I try to play guitar and have emailed (and gotten a reply from) Stephen Shwartz, the great one himself. Ok, let's see how much useless trivia I can spit out...I *nearly* met Matt Caplan, who is the current Mark in Rent, although I got a cute little smile and a wave. I...have read 'Wicked:TLATOTWWOTW' almost 5 times, and have started to quote it at times. I yell at the drama director when he says the book is shit...and I'm very defensive and self-depreciating. That's all. -gyps

Hi! I'm Jacki aka Zuisa on other parts of the internet. I've been a huge fan of Wicked since I read the book last year and found out there was going to be a musical made of it. I haven't seen it yet, but I hope to this summer, but I do have the CD and listen to it obsessively.
I'm 17 and I'm from Massachusetts, and I'm a total musical theater geek.
Glad to have "met" you all!
