I love her hair when it's either really curly or wavy. I guess I like the wavy one a lot because naturally that;s my hair and before I got my Stephanie D'Abruzzo haircut it was the same length too. Note, her hair really is naturally curly because when she comes out of the stagedoor a lot of times her hair is curly.

I'd love to have hair that was naturally curly. Or, well, hair that had ANY body at all would be nice... *blows on stick-straight, blonde hair*

Nope, just the beginning...isn't that an odd scene? You get lots of Taye later on though...though it *is* a rather disturbing movie...

I'm reading the new book "Making it on Broadway" and Idina Menzel is quoted a few times. A quote that really hit me is one about the stage door. It makes me think about the fan fiction "The Life and Times of Idina Menzel" and makes me feel bad about everyone who goes to the stage door. Here it is:
"Broadway is weird. You walk a few feet out of the stage door and everyone wants your autograph. You walk a few hundred feet or more and nobody knows who you are. I get uncomfortable sometimes when I am asked for my autograph. I know deep down that in five minutes I am going to be on the subway and nobody could care less."
I think it's true. Most of the time, we don't recogize Broadway stars on the street and even if we do, we don't goup to them and ask for their autograph. It's only at the stage door that we feel we can enter there world.

But that's just how it is and they know that being on Broadway means that people are going to want their autograph then, but not later. Also, without her makeup on, only the true fans recognize her. I don't know how many times people have held something out for her to sign because other people were doing it and then be like, OMG the green girl signed....when did she come out? Or be like, Who is that? After they just said they were waiting for Idina. Still...don't feel bad about the stagedoor...she's just shy...she doesn't mind it really....

It is so funny that you would say that because I was talking to a friend yesterday and telling him that I sent Idina a letter, and he said "You know, you might've chosen the wrong kind of celebrity to write too. Because really famous actors have people to respond to their fanmail for them, and really non-famous people can easily answer all their fanmail themselves. But people like her probably get just enough fanmail that they can't keep track of/answer it all, but not quite enough to have a team of people working to do it for them (i.e Jennifer Anniston,etc.). "I thought that that was a really good point.

Not to disagree with Idina... *GASPS all around* but I really don't think it's that people could care less. For me, at least, when I see a celebrity out in the "real world" walking around, I respect that they're a real person with things to do. I don't go mugging them for their autograph out of respect for their privacy. With places like the stage door, I believe the venue is appropriate. It's expected there. It's not expected at midnight on a subway when she's OBVIOUSLY exhausted and just wants to go home...

I agree with Wickayed. I don't want to invade other people's privacy when they just want to lead normal lives. I totally idolize Idina Menzel but I think she should feel honored and flattered that people want her autograph. And that they respect her enough to not get all up in her face when she's not near her working environment.

ya i totally agree with all your posts...and i think she "might" im not saying definitely but might be a little uncomfortable or annoyed [is that the word?] if someone ran up to her in the street and started asking for a picture and an autograph..i could be wrong but it just seems like the type of thing she would not be thrilled about
and i think its such a compliment to her that theres so many people who want her autograph and love her so much..like all of us! ;D

Seriously! If she could read all these posts about us loving her, I'm sure she'd be flattered... or kind of scared that we are all stalkers but who cares!!!

Who says she doesn't read them? I've heard any number of stories about cast members reading fan boards for different shows...There's even a special show for it on Broadwayworld.com radio.

Ooh that would be so cool! I've heard that she's bad with computers though -- that's why she's been taking so long to respond to her fan questions on her website. Idina, if your reading this, YOUR THE COOLEST! Haha sorry about that.
