My dad just gave me this newspaper article. Now, I knew the negotiations between Actors Equity and the producers weren't exactly smooth sailing, but I had NO idea it had gotten THIS bad.... According to today's New York Post, if an agreement isn't met by midnight tonight, (or an extension isn't agreed to) shows all along Broadway will shut down for a strike of indeterminate length. This includes "Wicked"... (The only major musical that I see on the list that WILL go on is "Assassins" since they have a different contract.) So, those of you who are going to see the show tonight... savor it. I don't know when things will return to normal.

Thats going to be horrible if they strike!! Kristin and Norbert are leaving the show REALLY soon! I wonder if there would be any possibility to them extending a week if the show is on strike

Well, 12:30am and here's what I managed to glean from people I chatted with.... (there's been no official press release, really) Talks broke down at around 11pm with representatives of the producers "walking out." In spite of this, however, it appears actors will work through Tuesday now... some sources say even to the end of the week. I hope the latter of the two is true since I have tickets for Thursday... *eeps*

This is what I know:
At 11 PM last night, it was decided that all actors must go back to work and they will continue negotiating through the week.
So lets just hope there's not strike.

I think so; it has to do with contracts and such. I think the touring actors want the same amount of money as the Broadway actors. Or something like that.
