www.playbill.com/news/article/87077.htmlGetting me nervous again.... And I did a little reading on the reasons for the strike: looks like, yes, a scaled pay (more for larger roles) on tours is one of the big points. The other two sticking points in negotiations are health care coverage and safety issues for shows which involve large, dangerous, technical sets.

The way it stands right now it sounds like you're safe in seeing your favorite Broadway shows through July 4th... after that, things might just get a bit dicey. Actor's Equity and the Producers are scheduled to go back to the tables after the July 4th weekend. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that this is resolved quickly and without a work-stoppage (read: strike).

*crosses fingers* Large, technical sets, eh? Kind of like when Kristin's "Popular" set doesn't come out or something? Oh well, I would be devastated if there was a strike... esp. during the week of Cheno/Norbert's last performance... would they extend it maybe??

I'm just asking for a friend whose seeing it on July 20th, is it best for her to go to the stage door before or after the show? My guess is after...hehe

After. DO NOT go before the show. And this is in the wrong topic We have a topic for stagedoor questions already. As for the strike, latest news is that there WILL BE NO STRIKE! Yay! ;D They reached a tentative agreement yesterday, and the shows will continue to run!
