Hi Everyone! I thought it would be fun to start a post saying goodbye to Kristin and Norbert:
After seeing the show tonight (7-18-04), which was beyond amazing, I finally realize how much I'm going to miss the two of them. They really do MAKE the show. I met Kristin last night and said a proper goodbye to her. After that, I broke down hasterically crying because i realized how much I would miss her, and for me, that's a big deal because I never crying at times like these. I saw Norbert yesterday and gave him a baloon and said I'd miss him and saw him again today and wished him goodluck. They are both so incredibly sweet!
Kerri and i gave Kristin a baloon as well, and a goodbye gift! I seriously love her. She is MY IDOL and it's not going to be the same without her.
I want to thank both of them for touching my life in numerous ways --> sorry if that's totally cheesy, And I want to wish them all the luck ini the world. The show tonight was amazing. i cried throughout the whole thing, but loved every minute of it. And the cute things they added in (ex: the popular book, and norbs hair toss etc) were perfect
I love them so much and will miss them like crazy! I'm sorry if this was a pointless thread, but people can feel free to post their thoughts on tonights show and the cast etc if they'd like!

I agree. I think that it's a great idea to have this thread.
I, as I'm sure many, if not all, of us, are horribly sad that Kristin and Norbert are gone. I’m out here in Colorado watching the clock, and waiting until the moment that I know that it was over. It was about an hour ago and I started crying. I've only seen the show once, and I'm bawling on the couch, my mom is panicked. "What's wrong?!" I replied "Kristin is no longer Glinda in Wicked." Although, she will be the first, and one and only Glinda to me, but I'm partial. She laughed that motherly laugh of "My daughter has a really weird obsession." But comforted me anyway. I announced on my blog that this was a horribly sad day for me. I get so attached to musicals and their stars. Especially ones that are my heroes, like Kristin is.
Seeing that show helped me realize the musical theatre is my life, and that stars of shows are normal and kind. That all happened when meeting Kristin. She was so kind. A few others that i had met were kind of snobbish, but she was so kind, and so was Idina.
And Norbert, he was wonderful. So perfect as Fiyero, and adorable to boot. This show will not be the same.
I went to the Official Wicked Website and saw that they're already taken off of the cast list. That's when I knew that it was official.
Thank you to Kristin and Norbert, ands the rest of the cast. But to them especially. You are amazing!
(Was that sappy or what?)

I was all upset when I finally realized it was over too - I feel lucky that I did get to see her - but so upset that I wasn't there today.
My mom was also vaguely weirded out that I was listening to "for good" and bawling like a baby - but at least she was nice about it.
I know I've survived people leaving my favorite shows before (I practically dressed in black and wouldn't leave the house when Idina left Rent) but this just seems so much worse!
Probably because its a show about two friends... and now one of the friends is going to be... different.
I love JLT - I think she's wonderful and I loved her to peices in Urinetown and I think she's a great choice to be Glinda.
BUT SHE WON'T BE KRISTIN *sob*
Thank you so much for making this thread, I really needed to vent that since everyone around me is tired of hearing it.

I'm glad everybody seemed to enjoy the last performance of Kristin and Norbert. How were they at the end of the show? able to speak and stuff? hehe.

I've never seen the show, so obviously I never saw them in it, but I love them both and they are both so talented. I'll miss hearing about them in Wicked, but I'm just really glad that they're going on to other things! Kristin is going to be so busy, I've no idea how she's going to manage everything. And Norbert in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels next season! They were both great in Wicked and they'll be great in the projects they do in the future!
And absolutely CANNOT wait to hear about J-La!

This performance was the by far the best one that I've ever sat through of Wicked. They added in a few things that were funny and touching and made me cry (Becca was next to me sobbing hysterically lol). Curtain call was the best, every single person in the house was on their feet screaming and clapping (well the obsessive fans were... aka most people in there lol) and some were blowing bubbles, and crying, etc etc. Joel Grey came onstage in regular clothing and he, Norbert, and Kristin were presented huge bouquets of flowers. Then Idina made a little speech and it was so touching and sweet and I loved it. And when Kristin and Idina come out together and hug, Kristin like jumped on Idina so Idina was kind of carrying her lol, just for a sec, it was cute and funny.
The stage door was muy disappointing. We waited for 2 hours in the pouring rain and not one person came out. I guess they had other places to be. But I had said goodbye to them the previous night so it was okay. It was kinda cool because Joey McIntyre walked out of the Gershwin across the street and everyone started yelling "Joey! Joey!" But he was on his cell phone lol.
I am going to miss Kristin and Norbert and Joel so much. I know someone in the orchestra and I asked him about the new leads and he said they're all fabulous but I just can't imagine anyone else in these roles. They better be beyond amazing, because they've got HUGE shoes to fill.

I went to the Official Wicked Website and saw that they're already taken off of the cast list. That's when I knew that it was official. They've also taken down the photo galleries- both rehearsal and production shots! They're "updating" them currently. *siiigh*

I just went to the official site and now I'm all teary-eyed.
So, I would like to post a really long and detailed review-but I can't. I don't have it in me. I'll just say that last night was incredible. Incredibly sad. There were so many emotions that I cannot even begin to describe. I started sobbing during "DTL"- it was horrible! The curtain call was just-::Sigh:: I can't even explain it. Idina's speech was so touching and she was completely right: "Oz will never be the same without you." Didn't she say something like that? Or was I hearing what I wanted to hear (LLAM)?

Ah, ok, good. So I didn't make it up. (It's this long battle with my Aunt too: "She did not say that." "Yes she did! I think I'd remember!" "No I think you thought you heard it because you wanted to hear it!" But I digress...) It was the best performance I've seen. Granted, I've only seen it two other times before this; but it was still the best. And you're so right: I am very proud to call myself a Wicked fan.
