Yeah, a t-shirt might not be up to dress-code, if there is one. I'd go a little bit fancier. If I were going, well I'd be in NYC right now, I'd probably wear either what I wore to see Wicked or a button down from abercrombie (MY STORE!! haha, me and courtney were talking about it on IM one night) and like, cords or something. Man, I wish I was going. You all have to share what it was like afterwards. I expect a blow-by-blow detailed summary at least three pages long, single spaced, one inch margins, ten-point font.
You have until Monday.
Good luck.
Just kidding, school has taken a toll on me.

You might have to turn your review into two posts by putting half of it in each post.

Yes you have to put it into 2 posts..I'm going to post my full review in my LJ so ill post my LJ link here when im done..
Another amazing thing that happened that I forgot to mention was at the end of the concert when everyone was standing and cheering, me cait and amanda [all from the board] called out "WE LOVE YOU KRISTIN!" and all of the sudden it got pretty quiet and she went "Aww, I love you too!" I seriously almost DIED in my chair! She is so amazing! And then she waved up to us in the mezzanine ;D

ok, ill try this in two posts... thanks for the help.
to those of you who are reading this multiple times, sorry...
I'm posting this morning cause i got back to late last night to come post.
I went with my parents and a close friend of mine. Dinner, blah, blah, blah, i was like freaking out during the entire thing, cause yea, i know i was right across the street for Carnegie Hall, but still...
While we were walking in, i definatly saw a lot of pink, pink & black, or tiaras! I also thought i reconized a few of you from like the pictures you post on either glitter, or other boards... but being with my parents and a friend who wasn't in glitter, i couldn't really go try to find any of you and say hi.
I was up in the Dress Circle, which, for anyone who has never been to Carnegie Hall, is like the second highest place you can be! but it didn't really matter, cause i was sitting in carnegie hall, watching (or actually about to watch) kristin, so i didn't really care where i was sitting...
i was soooo impatiant before the concert actaually started. i kept leaning over to my friend and was like is it gonna start soon!!
kristin came out in this absoutly gorgeous pink gown, (can i take her clothes?!?! pleassssssssssseeee? i really really want them...) ok, nough ranting. so anyway she came out and the hall was filled with clapping and cheers and she recieved a standing ovation before she even started, which was very sweet.
Her first song was, A Girl Like Me, which was a haliarious song about, well, her. the first lines were something like, "i'm from oklahmoma" and then later on she was talking about, "what a girl like me doing in a place like carnegie hall" it was haliarious, and then in the middle of the song, she was like, "let me see if i can fit in" and she, in the capacity of like a 16th of a note, she goes from ligit to her flawless saprano. She recieved a HUGE applause after that song.
In between all the songs she would talk about herself, being at carnegie, etc... she was very cute with all of them...
Then she sang Parsley which is, in itself, a funny song.
After she sings she starts talking, "I have needs" she said, and she's going on like, "urgent needs, needs that need to be satisfied every day, you know what i mean." and theres this pause and you can just tell that the audience is defiently wondering wheres she's going with this. and then you goes "two words--- Krispy Kreme" and the audience just died. she said a little more, which i don't remember right now, and then she was like "yes, my needs are simple, but... there's this girl i know..." and she goes into Daddy. Which was fun, because even though, yes most of us listen to the cd constantly and know the song very well, it is always more fun to see something live. I hadn't gone to the Bosten Pops, Tanglewood, etc... concerts, so if the coreography was the same, it was still new to me, and i found most of it just halarious.
so the song finishes and her two dancers leave, and she looks at the audience and is like "they were really ugly. and they can't dance either." which, at least about the dancing ( i was too far away to really see looks) is not true, which is obviously why she said it, and what made it so amusing.
then she talks about her auditions and how she'd walk in with music by Jerome Kern, Lenard Bernstein, etc... and all the other girls have their music from RENT. so kristin, goes "well i can get 'downtown' too, the only problem is, when im nervous, my opera voice can come out." so she starts singing some song which i don't know the name of, if you do, help me out... and then at the "goodness gracious great balls of fire" part (yea, that song, sorry, don't know the name) she sings it operetticly (is that a word?). she then she says how, sometimes you just know there was a composer your born to sing, and that's how she feels about Jerome Kern. And she goes into her Jerome Kern medley, which included Bill, Why Was I Born, and Nobody Else But Me. All of which where just beautiful.
after that she talks about how "growing up in OK, there wasn't a lot to do, except go to the dance with the cutest guy. for me that guy was..." ok, i forget his name, whatevah! and she goes into Goin' to the Dance With You, which i know some people have seen live, but i hadn't and im going to describe it, asuming that some of the people who weren't there last night, haven't seen her perform in concert live. she then during the dance break, her other dancer comes on and the three of them are dancing, and kristin's making comments like "this fun" "ooh, its hard in heels" and stuff like that. and the guys are checking each other out, behind her back. and so at the end of the song, you guessed it, the two guys dance off together.
Then they brough out a stool for her, and Kristin's trying to get on, but its too tall, so she's trying to climb and its very funny, so the bring out a smaller stool and she's like "well, that's more like it." and then she sings Boy which was a very nice song.
Then, YEAH, she sings Taylor the latte boy song, for those who don't know. i had only heard her sing the song via the clip on the Praire Home site, and i loved it even more live. its just such a great song. ( i may have to go find the sheet music... does anyone know if its avalible?)
Then she did If, now, i love that song, but i had never seen her do it live, and oh my g-d, it was sooooooooooo funny. like on the cd, right after the slow part, i never realized there's a gun shot there. but i listened to it after i got home and its there, on the cd. but so, for those who have never seen it live, after she sings, " i hope i wont miss you" she pulls out a gun, and shoots him. which, by itself is halarious, and coming from this 4'11" blonde girl, with a touch of twang, clad in a pink ball gown, is just ten times more amusing. and then the choreography was incredible for that number, its so well done, and so funny. i was a fan of Kathleen Marshall's work before, but this defininatly increased my liking of her work...
After that there was an intermission. Which was fairly boring, and i just wanted the concert to start again. One interestin note, the guy who was sitting next to be, got up at intermission and never came back, lets hope he just upgraded his seat, and not left...

here's the rest...
Kristin came back out to more cheers and clapping, etc... This time she was wearing this cute black sparkly dress, that came up to about her knee. ( i repeat my earlier remarke about her clothes...) She sang Spread A Little Joy which was very sweet.
After that she said, now the next song was written by Andrew Lippa, but it wasn't, so did i just mishear her and she said the last song... i dont know, im confused. but anyway the first strands of music, and all the glitter gals, guys, (myself included) started cheering, cause yes, it was 14 G she's just so great in the song, the changes and whatnot, shes just well, Kristin, she's incedible.
Next she starts talking about how she's played a lot of witches lattly, more catcalls from the glitter fans, and she mentions glinda, and the cat-calls continue and then she mentions "Bewitched" and Nicole Kidman. pause, pause pause, and then she's like, no actaully Nicoles a sweethart, etc... and so she's making all these comments about her height and nicoles (if you didn't know nicole is either 6ft or 6'1", so yes, a bit of height difference) so kristin was saying how she was worried about nicole, she made a halarious comment about how she [nicole] was carrying around all that excess height and how she [kristin] wasn't sure if nicole could get enough oxygen up there! so then she's saying how she and nicole where in her trailer, and nicole was wearing the nose and blah, blah, blah, and kristin says "so i told her sit down... on the floor (so i can see) and she did, so i looked her in the eye, (i was standing) and..." then she starts Popular she got the first line out, and then all the glitter memebers, maybe a few other people, started the cheering again, and after it died down kristin continued. i love kristin in that song, shes just so funny. (as a side note: i sang that for my camp talent show, and the highlight of my summer was a bunch of people who knew the show fairly well, and knew how kristin sang it, actually told me that if the closed their eyes the thought i was her... you could have knocked me over with a feather.) but anyway... during the part where she would normally be conversing with elphie, she continues the nicole conversation...
after that she sang Borrowed Angels, which will be on her next album, she mentioned that her next album was coming out in march and all the glitter memebers cheered. the song was very pretty and she sang it just beautifilly (sp?).
sometime, i forget when she mentioned, her tv show, Kristin and glitter erupted in more cheers, so kristin laughed and said "those are the people who watched the show."
she started talking about how a little know tidbit about her was she was involved in the "Miss America" pagents. so she makes some funny comments and then she talks about the bathing suit contest and how that often allows for some weight issues. oh, this is where she mentioned the tv show. so she said she over heard a cameraman say "don't shoot her from that angle, she has little back fat" the entire audience gasped, cause first of all, its a terrible thing to say, and second, look at kristin... so kristin says "i wasn't sure if i heard him correctly, 'don't shoot her from that angle, she has a little baaaaaaackkkkkk faaaaaattttt'", yes that slow, that drawn out, and in this voice that i can't explain. so then she sings Fatso which is a funny song about a women who wants to be skinny. and the dancing was very good. oh, it started off great, with her stting on a stool, with a romate, and can of something or other, and a bag of chips... and during one part, her two dancers are supposed to lift her up in the air, and they couldn't (know idon't know if this was part of the dance or not, you cna't always tell with kristin...) but she goes, try it again, and they did, and the did lift her. and there was this funny line, while she's in the air she sings something about how nice it would to be only 85 lbs. which for kristin, who weighs like, 10 lbs more than that, to sing, was very amusing.
lastly she sang Hard Times. It was very nicley sung...
she recieves a HUGE standing ovation... everyone is cheering and clapping. and then she comes back out, and motions for people to sit, and the do and she waves for someone off stage to come on, and her bed/couch thing, for "Candide" comes on, and all the people in the audience (i'm asuming all glitter members) who had either seen the show, or reconized the bench from pics they had seen all cheered. and kristin goes, "well, if you insist" and she sings Glitter and Be Gay. I had never seen her do it live, only the radio broadcast or the clip from her sony website. she is incredible with that song... its just SO amazing and it was so much fun. she recived another standing ovation for that.
she come back on and says "i don't know if i should end with that everytime." and then she starts talking about her dad and little things they did together and then she said that this was a song she wrote and yes she sang, A Ride Home. It was very pretty and she almost had me in tears...
then she got another standing ovation... and everyone was thinking that this was it, but she came back out and sang Till There Was You, i love her rendition of that song, and as always, it was very lovley...
That really was the end, and she recived yet another standing ovation...
Random fact: with the exception of a few sparatic seats the entire place was sold out... i was sooo happy for kristin, cause thats really incredible.
To address the previous post, well the part about shouting and picture taking. The first time they shouted "We love you Kristin" i actaully thought it was sweet, she didn't hear them that time though, so i can understand why they tried again... with those things, i think it depends on the star, some would be nice and grateful, like kristin, who said "aww, i love you too." and other wouldn't like it. about the guy who was telling them to shut up... that's just annoying, cause i heard hime, and i found that more annoying and distracting then i did the fans telling her that they supported her. kristin's "oh behave yourselves" was very funny though, but that was enough, kristin can handle her audience, she didn't need men yelling at her fans to shut up, that was just rude. and about pictures- with her last show, i wasn't there but a friend told me that the ushers said, that you were allowed to take pictures during the curtain call. and at some places, like tangle wood, i believe, you are allowed to take pics inbetween songs while there is applause. now i don't know what Carnegie Halls rules are, as i didn't ask, cause i wasn't gonna take pics. but if the rules here during the curtain call or during applause, then fine, whatevah, but the taking of pics during her songs, was a little distracting.
but anyway i don't want to end on a sour note, so the evening was wonderful, and you know something very cool. my parents have never been big kristin fans, they've always liked idina better (as a big fan of both, i can't say anything) but last night when i asked if they like it they both said yes, they did and they had never realized how incredible she was... now isn't that sweet!!!
oh, wow, i just realized how long this post was... sorry... hope you enjoyed reading it though!!!!
