Dear Community,
The holiday season will be rapidly approaching and before you know it, we will all be very busy. It is a time to give back to your loved ones, and especially the community. This semester, my fellow students and I have been diligently working, put in countless hours of work, and volunteering our talents to give back to the Staten Island community. We have been hard at work on “Broadway Rocks: Rock and Pop Songs from Broadway”. All proceeds will go to the largest AIDS not-for-profit organization: Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids (www.bcefa.org), which provides care to children, men and women. All proceeds will go to this wonderful organization! This is an open invitation to you all. We really want to reach more of the Staten Island community and beyond -to raise as much money as possible! It’s an amazing cause and the audience will get a polished, professional show, and be highly entertained. It will also promote the audience to Broadway –and for some it may be their first introduction to Broadway music.
The theme of the show is rock and pop songs from Broadway. The show will have approximately twenty songs in two acts. The songs range from amazing standards like Hair, Pippin, Grease to more contemporary shows such as Rent, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I am offering this to you before the rest of the community, so if you would like to go. There is a number below for ticket reservations for both the Staten Island shows, as well as the Manhattan show. Please don’t let distance hinder you from coming to either show!
Also, enclosed is our website –which because of so many people have been looking it can be temperamental –so keep on trying. It resets itself every hour.
Everything is coming out of our own pocket, so attached is a copy of our poster, IF YOU COULD HELP IN ANY WAY ADVERTISE that would be great!
To raise money we are also holding an auction full of Broadway memorabilia. If you have ANY ITEMS THAT COULD BE AUCTIONED (Broadway and Non-Broadway) that would advance this cause please don’t hesitate to let me know.
