The New Cast

Hey everyone
I don't know if anyone has talked about the new cast but I thought I would bring it up. I think the cast members are excellent. I saw the show on Weds. matinee with the new cast and they were really good. I went to the Jan. 9th performance so I had already seen Shoshana who was good. It is just hard to imagine someone other than Idina playing Elphaba b/c I was fortunate enough to see Idina twice before she left but Shoshana is pretty amazing. I think she was better when I saw her on Weds. than she was on Jan 9th. Anyways she is amazing. The new Fiyero is HOTTTTT! At least I thought he was HOT! and he is an excellent Fiyero and he had great chemistry with both JLT and Shoshana, oh yeah did I mention he was HOT! The new Boq is good but I think the actor that plays him is balding or something b/c Boq now wears a hat. Overall, great new cast but I have to get use to Shoshana as the new Elphaba.

I still can't imagine anyone but Idina playing Elphaba. Sad to lose her, but i mean everyone deserves a chance to fly, right? lol

I am SO excited to be able to see the new cast! I think Shoshana is a perfect ELphaba replacement..of course there will never be another Idina Menzel, nor will there ever be anothe Kristin Chenoweth but i think the replacements tehy got will be AMAZING!!!! I am so excited i get to see them!!! eeek!!

I thought David was great. I thought he was a better Fiyero than Joey Mac. Not that Joey wasn't good but David is a lot better.

I was just looking at the cast list on the official website and the new Elphaba standby is listed. Her name is Saycon Sengbloh. (I hope I spelled that right.)

Omug! I totally agree about Fiyero, that's the first thing I thought! I thought Shoshana Bean was excellent as well as JLT was real good too! I don't really have an opinion on Boq just that he was fine. But omug! I totally agree about Fiyero!

Aww right! That's pretty awesome! I hope I catch the standby if I ever go anytime soon. Is it me or does anyone else want to see her sing? Haha. I guess it's because she differs so much in looks and singing-her website sings when you click on it-from Idina (with Shoshana it seems almost like a competition, probably since she sang the last songs of the show and fans are a little upset about that) but daaaamn.
I think it's awesome that Elphaba can be available to singers of any race. She's not black or white or brown. She's GA-REEN.
Haha. Looking for an Asian Glinda. Haha.
