Is anyone havin a major hard time ajusting to Shoshana (sp??) as Elfie?? I'll see a pic of her or go on the offical site and be like, THATS not Elfie! cause its not Dee! Im hoping im not the only one who feels this way!! I havent heard her sing anything from wicked, does anyone have a clip?? HELP!!  |

I went to see Wicked for the 3rd time on Saturday and when Shosha came out as Elphie, I'm like "Idina came back. Yeah!!!!!" I didn't realize that was Shosha as Elphie at first because she almost looks just like Idina in all that green make-up and sounds like her a little bit too. But, I really miss Idina. Nobody can ever take her place as Elphie.

sniffles i miss dee sooooo much. i agree i mean i'll look at pics on the official site and it's just not the same. she has a different look about her and it doesn't seem to want to click in my head.

I'm not actually. I think Shoshana makes a fantastic Elphaba! My mind's Elphie when reading the book wasn't Idina or Eden or Shoshana or anyone else, so I think that might be why.

I just don't get it! When i look at her, it just doesnt want to comprehend in my head! I'm hoping when i see it she will be awesome like everyone says she is! ;D

She was good I must admit that, and even though I never saaw Idina Menzel as Elphaba I'm looking at Shoshana thinking you aren't Elphaba! Their voices are so different. After a while I got used to her though. It's strange though.

No question about it. Nobody can ever replace Idina...at anything!! I mean, it just looks so different to see a Wicked picture and see Shoshana as Elphie. I haven't seen her, but she's probably great. Still, she's no Idina. I also hate the sites that have started taking pictures of Idina and Kristin off and replacing them with current photos. It gets me mad b/c they created the roles and everybody loves them soooo much!

Yes, they created the roles but like every other show, the roles continue to be passed on to other performers. Yes, Idina and Kristin originated the roles, but really, JLT and Sho are capable performers and I don't think it is fair to think of them as any less. I'm not saying you can't have your preferences but really, don't insult the other ladies (or men) because they are working just as hard as (perhaps harder than) the original stars.

A clip of Shosana (sp) performing is on broadway.com. It has Carole Shelley giving a behind the scence tours. I loved it lol! And though it is hard to get used to Shoshana, I do agree with Cate that we have to support whoever is on the stage. Though I still do get confused sometimes when I see her pic. But I am sure she is doing great.

it was hard for me to see her as elphaba also in pictures and stuff but when i saw her perform she was...just..AHH beyond words incredible. and she turned into Elphaba when i saw her. she has her own way of doing it tho. its very different from Idina but i love it!!!! once you see Sho as elphie its soo easy to see her as elphie everywhere else *pictures etc.*
