Idina in Rent (the movie)

I nearly had a heartattack (of joy) when I heard that they were going to produce a movie of RENT, with most of the original cast I might add! I was so excited to see that Anthony Rapp (The tottaly hot broadway guy who plays Mark and was in 'Your a Good Man Charlie Brown') was going to be in it that I instantly broke out all my Rent CD's and went out to dance in my drive way under the hot sun.

It wasn't till later, when I was looking at the Sony Pictures website for the movie: www.sonypictures.com/movies/rent/
That I realized that Idina Menzel (our wonderful 'Elphaba') will be playing Maureen in the movie! This is just adding to my great delight that I'm going to see some great stars in the movie!

Another star from 'Wicked' who was a fill in for Fiyero, will be staring in the movie- Taye Diggs. He will be playing Benny and was an original RENT cast member! I am so ready for this movie lol! ;D

Okay I now know that Idina was an Original Renter (from the original Rent cast). This I did not know and now that I know I think I love her more!

Taye Diggs (the sexy dog !)
Jesse L. Martin (who is a detective on Lawn and Order! )
Adam Pascal (Another sexy singer!)
Anthony Rapp (The very very very cute geeky looking one but my favorite!)
Rosario Dawson (The only one of two that wasn't an orginal Renter)
Wilson Jermaine Heredia (The only man to REALLY play 'Angel' in my book!)
and Tracie Thoms (the other not original cast member)

I'm one of several resident die-hard Rentheads around here, and I can tell you that most of that fandom is absurdly excited about the movie. Personally, I still get chills every time I watch the trailer on my computer. And yeah, check out the Rent thread in the Off-Topic area!

I'm soooo excited. The trailer has been on moviefone.com for like at least a month, and the day they first put it on, my friend and I watched it 13 times in a row.

That's such a fun video! I loved how she was saying she never wanted to sing it again after doing it so many times in one day! llam
