Yeah well...I'm watching Montel on TV with pyschic Sylvia Browne...and I will admit she kinda scares me. I've always been interested in the more "mystical" aspects of life, like palm readers and psychic, but I was wondering what everyone feels on this subject...Mind you, I'm not asking whether you believe or not, because I don't know where I stand on the issue.
This is a safe thread, meaning NO abuse or attacks on another's beliefs will be tolerated.

I believe that amongst all the con artists there are real pyschics out there. My mom used to be friends with a woman who said she was pyschic and some of the things that she said were just so true (or have since come true) that it's hard for me not to believe. Of course, I also believe that there are people who pretend to be pyschic ( :::coughMissCleocough::: ). I think the animal pyschics are the coolest! I always watch that show on Animal Planet and it's just spooky sometimes. BTW- Pyschic is a really weird word...it never seems like it is spelled right.

To me, it's not a matter of believing in psychics or not. It's more of a matter of being able to see things a certain way...or not. Personally, I've had many psychic happenings where, for example, I'd see something happening in my head, and then a minute or so later it would happen. Really wierd shiz that I don't really get. But I don't really believe that those wierd people that wear turbans and light inscence and speak in funny voices really see anything more then a future in a straight jacket. -gyps

There have been people who disprove the existance of psychics. I don't think psychics exist, but I think there are times when everyone experiences a psychic moment. For instance, my sister (FaeAtShiz) and I have moments where we can think of the same thing at the same time or predict what the other will say. Some might call this the "Twin thing" since we are twins. But considering we've known each other so long, it's not that strange.

I learned in psychology that most fake psychics use what are called "Barnum phrases" ("A sucker is born every minute" or something like that) to convince the audience that the psychic really predicted something. They say what you want to hear. How about Jon Edwards? He asks general questions and discards incorrect assumptions so quickly the subject has no idea that just happened. Anyone see the HBO series BullS*** with Penn and Teller? They address the issue of psychics and dismiss all of them.

I no that this is an old thread, but I was looking through old threads and this one is preety intresting....
so my feeling on psycics: well, I have a friend (in one of my choirs) and her mom was a chaperone on one of our tours. On the tour she did a palm reading on one of the guys in the choir. Just from looking at his palm, never haven spoken to this guy before in her life was able to tell that when he was 2 he fell out of a window, that his father had died of cancer and that he would meet the love of his life in the least expected way....... When we were playing beach vollyball and he triped over who would become the love of his life I became a belevor. The two love birds are still together today, and they jut announced their plans of engagement. So do I beleive in psyics..... i dont no, but i do no that i beleive that there r some people who can see things that others cant.
