I once had to play a tree. They didn't even put my name in the program. This was 4th grade, and it sure did wonders to my self esteem, that part. They would make me come to rehersals just to practice standing on the stage, holding a f**king branch. I had no lines, no movements, just held that branch until my arms went numb and fell off. Maybe this is why I'm so mean and cynical towards everything related to theater. -gyps

Well, since everyone else is sharing their experiences in Wizard of Oz plays...
I moved to NJ one week too late to be in the show. Even though only4th and 5th graders could be in it, this year was an exception. 3rd graders could now audition to be munchkins or flying monkeys, get to sing and dance and wear cute little glittery hats, or get to scream and run through the audience.
They wouldn't let me do that either. Funny how after years of no one having faith in me, I don't even have any faith in me either. *shrug* All my friends were in it, I used to help them practice. -gyps

Musical Theater Experience
Wizard of Oz- Featured Munchkin, it was with an old theater company I used to be involved with that I wish I could forget about but since everybody's posting if they were ever in Wizard of Oz I wrote it
Music Man- Dancer x2 Brigadoon- Fiona and Jean's Friend Guys and Dolls- Hot Box Girl Honk- once as Downy the duckling, once as Maureen Big- Cynthia Benson's friend My Favorite Year- once as ensemble, once as Belle May Steinberg Carrrrrrrroca! Here's Love- Girl Scout Joseph...Dreamcoat- Honorary Mini Wife, LLAM that's what me and my friends who were in it called it because we were too little be real wives but we were placed in special dance numbers that other ensemble members weren't in so we felt special! Annie- Pepper Footloose- Cowgirl Singer Lil Abner- Secretary, scientist Crazy For You (most recent)- Patsy, I just got my part yesterday and I'm so excited!!!!!
I also went to theater camp for like 5 years, but they were specially written plays with different parts and stuff, I got mainly featured roles.
Hmmm don't know if anybody else wrote about this but I'll write my dance and vocal experience!
Dance- 8 years; currently studying ballet, jazz, tap, theater dance
Voice- 1 year currently
I also went to Arts High School for Broadway Vocal last year and I took acting lessons a few years back!

wow, you guys all have lots of experience. I'm afraid I was just a pit player playing the violin part on the flute for "Funny Girl" and "Once Upon a Mattress". Although, you get to see the show through most of the rehearsals from down there... Great fun!
