I'm eating one now... which poses a question that's been driving me crazy:
Does anyone know which came first: the COLOR "orange" or the NAME of the fruit?
Sorry, I know it's completely random but I've been wondering...

I think we should look at the answer as a history of language thing. I would suggest learning the word orange in several languages and find out how many languages have a different word for the fruit and color. I don't know that many, so I can't answer the question. Sorry!
