I bet this ends up being one of the most random threads on the board.
But trapeze; does anyone do it? Or am I alone in the world. -gyps

One of my really good friends from AMDA used to to work for Cirque du Soliel (in "Quidam") as a trapeze artist. But in rehearsals one day she fell off and dislocated both her shoulders, which led her to ultimately have surgery for one of them last winter. But she wants to get back into it really baldy and she was thinking on contacting the Cirque and seeing if there's still a place for her.

Wow, Cirque Du Soleil...Quidam...I actually saw a tape of their trapeze act over the summer, because at camp I "worked" (Sans pay, since I was underage) as trapeze staff, and the woman in charge had been offered contracts bu Cirque Du Soleil...5 times. And she turned them down! She's not snobby, she said she'd just rather work for a better cause. She liked teaching better then performing. But she showed me a video of the stuff she might have done if she accepted their offers, and that stuff is fantastic.
I spent the summer working on some of those moves, to fly like Cirque. And I am on my way, trust me. Heehee. -gyps

I was actually serenaded with that once, by some of the male trapeze staff. They all tried hitting high notes, and broke glass or something. But it was funny, a barbershop quartet thing of men singing a girl song to me about flying...they didn't even know the words.
I want to go to that manhattan trapeze thing so badly! -gyps
