Yay for being Irish!!! *Ish 100% Irish American* I so love my people. Celtic pride and all that blarney. Hehe. I did all my partying on Saturday because, let's face it, what good is a Wednesday night one? Not very fun if you ask me. Anywho, just some Irish fun for ya. WHEN IRISH EYES ARE SMILINGWhen Irish eyes are smiling Sure it's like a morning spring. In the lilt of Irish laughter, You can hear the angels sing. When Irish hearts are happy, All the world seems bright and gay. And when Irish eyes are smiling, Sure, they steal your heart away. ~Author Unknown~Old Folk Remedies About The Potato1) The Incas used raw slices of potatoes to place on broken broken bones to promote healing. They also carried potatoes in the belief that it prevented rheumatism. 2) It was also believed that if you ate potatoes with other foods, it would prevent indigestion! 3) Help a toothache by carrying a potato in your pocket! 4) Ease a sore throat by putting a slice of baked potato in a stocking and tying it around your throat. 5) Ease aches and pains by rubbing the affected area with the water potatoes have been boiled in. My town is FULL of irish people so we have a huge parade every year the Saturday before St. Patty's day. I wore a green shirt that says"Everyone Loves an Irish Girl", and stood on the side lines catching candy like a 5 year old. It was a lot of fun!I felt so Elphie-ish being green!Lets face it, today is a Wicked holiday!

We do parties at Uni with green beer ;D And since my brother's name is Patrick, we take the day seriously in my house. My mom always makes us wear green and she buys this green-coloured bread from the store and we have Irish stew, of course She takes it very, very seriously. Yay for being Irish! Slainte everybody!!

I am Irish, but too young to drink alcohol. In Indianapolis they dyed the canal green. Stupid me forgot about St. Patrick's Day & wore my green Oz shirt on Saturday & I only had one other green shirt that was clean. Today at school was hat day & I completely forgot, or I would have worn a Witch hat to go w/ the green.

Yeah, they dyed a river emerald (first song that popped into my head when I heard this? "One Short Day", of course!) in Chicago. It looked cool. I'm only like 2% Irish. But I wore green anyway. Because my boyfriend is VERY Irish. And he told me I should wear green. LLAM. And today in chorus we all sang with in Irish brogue (forgive me if I spelt that wrong) because my chorus teacher is 100% Irish. So she thought it'd be "Swankified." I cannot express the amount of pleasure I got out of hearing that. Because I use Wicked words A LOT. And she's starting to pick up on it. Oh, I'm so evil! Anyway, I got way off-topic. I tend to do that. So Happy St. Patrick's Day! ;D

Today in school (we usually wear uniforms) it was a dress-down day to wear all green and I came into school going 'I'm all greeeeen-ified!' Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all!

Was feeling particularly appalled that no one at work had any green on, and wanting to show my Irish spirit (yay lefthanded Irish girls who drink beer, Caitlinda!!!!)so I used food colouring to dye my macaroni and cheese green. Also would only eat green jelly beans and left all the other colours in the bag. But green jelly beans are kinda yucky...

My mom went on a green craze yesterday... green cupcakes with green icing, limeaid, pistachio pudding...

Hope no one got food poisoning from their cornbeef and cabbage. Yesterday, I dressed up in a green velour sweatsuit my aunt mailed me a few months ago. It's a very bright green, and my friend was like "Ally, you look positively emerald." Which spurned a 'One Short Day' singalong. -gyps
