Which musical movie gives you a thrill when you watch it? That makes you get up and dance and sing? List your favorites here.
Mine would have to be: 1. Chicago - Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zellwegger were perfect as Velma and Roxie. And how could you go wrong with songs like "All That Jazz" and "Roxie"? Great great great movie.
2. Cabaret - Two words: Liza Minnelli. Joel Grey IS the Emcee.
3. Gypsy - Natalie Wood is awesome as Gypsy Rose Lee, plus I just love this musical in general.
4. Wizard of Oz - obvious reasons
5. Meet Me In St. Louis & Star Is Born - Judy Garland's best movies.

I love LOTS of Movie-Musicals... Evita-I LOVE Antonio Banderes! He is just amazing, and I think Madonna does and awesome job. The music and story of Evita really moves me and I cry everytime I watch it. It is one of my favorite movies of all time...actually I think I might go watch it when I get off line... Jekyll and Hyde-I know it was just taped off the Broadway stage, but I still count it as a movie-musical!I love this musical man(Maybe its cuz I played Lucy;))But I love the music, acting, and the whole thrill of this play. Coleen Sexton is AMAZING!I think she would be a great Elphie! The Wizard Of Oz-Im sorry, but I still cry everytime Judy Garland sings,"Somewhere Over The Rainbow". That song makes me think of her and all she went through. It makes me think of that TV movie that was on a few years ago"Me and My shadows"and I just cry. I love Judy Garland, she has such an amazing vocie. She is so wonderful. I also love the rest of the movie. It is tacky i'll admit, but it is chock full of childhood memories and I just adore it! Meet Me in St.Louis-I love the Trolly Song...thats all I have to say about that The Sound Of Music- I used to watch this when I was little with my mom and I didnt get what was going on, but I loved the music. I used to twirl around in my living room like Julie Andrews. I was a funny kid. Annie-Ok, I know Im a loser but GOSH!I love Annie. I think it might be because I was in it, and it was one of the best plays I have ever been in. The cast was so close and we all loved each other soo much. I watch that movie and just love it! I also love almost every Disney movie(which they are kinda like musicals cuz most all of them have songs).I could probably keep going but Ill stop now! -Colleen

A great funny live version with Bernadette 3. Gypsy. Steven is amazing, and so is Natalie Wood, enough said 4. Evita. I don't like Antonio, but I love the show 5. Wizard of Oz. How could I not? 6. and lol, I agree with the loving the Disney musicals thing, why is it that they always seem to turn out so good?

I really loooooove The Music Man (and not just because Kristin is in it! although that is definitely a plus...) it's such a cute movie. My favorite scene is "Marian the Librarian." Ooh, and Into the Woods...although that isn't really a movie musical...I love it. Bernadette is awesome, Joanna Gleason is a comic genius. I love that show. I loved the revival. I JUST LOVE IT!

I know I'll forget some...
Chicago, The Music man, My Fair Lady, Grease, Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (the version with Lesley-Ann Warren), The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Peter Pan (even though it's a filmed version of the stage; with Cathy Rigby), and I'm sure there are more

Thanks for reminding me of Peter Pan. I used to watch it all the time. And of course I love the Music Man with the lovely Kristin.

OoOoOo...in no specific order....
The Music Man- Newer version with Cheno and Matthew Broderick
Moulin Rouge- Ewan McGregor...singing! AH! And the story is just beautiful.
The Sound of Music- I love Julie Andrews and I adore this movie.
Beauty and the Beast- It's timeless. Really. It's one of my favorite movies of all time, actually.
West Side Story- Need I explain? It's just amazing in every way possible. The music, the dancing, the acting. One of the best.
My Fair Lady- Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress of all time. And I just love this movie.
The Lion King- A score by Elton John is just heaven (hence my love for Aida). LLAM. But I love this movie so much. I have the whole Lion King trilogy.
Annie- The newer version with Victor Garber (cannot stress enough how much I love that man). I love the idea of this movie. And I love all the songs. Oh yeah, Cheno's in it! LLAM.
That's all I can think right now.

1] The Sound of Music-when i was a little girl i used to be OBSESSED with this movie...[not as much as wicked though llam] i memorized every line and would say them with the accent from the movie..my number one dream when i was little was to be in the sound of music..and last year it came true!! 2] The Wizard of Oz...what person DOESNT love this movie?? 3] Chicago..wow when i saw this i was so AMAZED..i hadnt seen it on Broadway so when i saw it in the movies i automatically fell in love and i bought it the day it came out!! 4] Gypsy-with Bette Midler...i rented this when i first got into the show and hadnt seen it..i like it better than the older version for some reason
there are so many great ones! those are just my top 4..
