Maybe... I COULD BE ELPHABA! Um... Yeah, in a million billion years when all the directors are down right desperate... lol. I hope Kansas City is on the list! I am SO volunteering to be an usher... Unlimited showings! Well, at least till they leave...

I've got two questions for all you more knowledgable thespians out there.
One, does the fact that there's a tour mean it's leaving broadway?
Two, since the preview shows were in SF (which I saw two of- a preview show and opening night- 5th row, dead center seats, free! Taye Diggs was right behind us!), does that mean SF will be one of the last cities on the tour? I'm assuming it'll come to SF...

I'm NOT a more knowledgeable thespian, but I think I know the answer for #1... I'm pretty sure shows that tour can still run on Broadway- cuz Mamma Mia is touring right now and it's still on the Great White Way, isn't it? Least it was when I was there in feb! Don't know about #2 though, sorry!

I know only the answer definitely to the first question, I'm afraid. Just because a show is going on tour does NOT mean that it will have to be taken off Broadway. There were a few shows throughout Broadway history that I can think of off the top of my head that have done just this. It's possible that San Fransisco may be on the tour schedule, but I'm not sure.

Yes it can still be on Broadway with a tour going.
EG: currently Movin' Out I do believe.

The dates for the Wicked tour auditions are scheduled. But it looks, like the broadway show, they will be only casting actors/actresses that are contracted under Actors Equity. I actually expected as much. The first tour for new shows are almost always Equity... subsequent tours, perhaps not though.

Out of curiousity and out of the fact that I'm planning on majoring in Musical Theatre in college, I looked up what you have to do to become an equity member. It's hard! Outrageously so. Like, you have to be in like, three equity shows before you can be a member of equity (sometimes at equity auditions, after all of the equity members audition, they let non-equity members audition). Meaning you have to be really good to be an equity member. So hopefully whoever is cast in the tour is extremely talented.
I'm assuming it will come to Boston. Well, I just noticed someone mentioned it was an A market. Good. Me and a bunch of my friends are gonna go, and my dad's gonna take us all. WOO! I'll finally get to see it (sans the OBC, but I'll have to get over that, my friend says to love Wicked for what it is, not who's in it).

Yeah, I was at the equity site myself looking around and it looks to be that Equity is definatly an elite club. I know that you can just audition for a show and be non-equity and if you get cast you will automatically get an equity card, if it is an equity show. But it's pretty hard to get in other wise. Like you have to be in a certain # of shows, clock hours and get recomendations. Lordy, and I thought getting into college was stressful!

According to my friend Rachel who attends AMDA in NYC, she told me that Stephanie Block (who was Elphaba before Idina came in for the preview shows in SF) will be playing Elphaba on the tour. I don't know how true this is, but it's always possible.

lol man I hope this one tours internationally too - but who knows - it will prob take at least another 3 years to come here That's how long it took the Producers and how long it normally takes I think. It depends I guess but oh well. I guess I'll just have to go over there and see it
