I am going to NY in June with a friend who has never been before. (We are, of course ;D, going to see Wicked.) What should we do and where should I take her? (We are going to go see Wicked in concert at Today too! ;D ;D ;D) I have been many times, so I have forgotten which touristy and non-touristy sites were the coolest. Any suggestions would be welcome...just trying to figure out what to show her and where to take her. Thanks!

OoOoO I'm good at this. LLAM. Ok, touristy things.... The Metropolitan Museum of Art The National Museum of Natural History Rockafeller Center 5th Avenue (Saks, Bloomies etc. etc.) The huuuuuuuuuuuge Library Central Park, of course (I suggest taking a carriage ride) Statue of Liberty The gigantic Macy's Madame Tusseiou's (Spelling?) The Hershey Store (LLAM. I looove this one. Biiiig candy bars!) The Bronx Zoo Times Square/The Naked Cowboy (he he; such a cool guy) Just some suggestions: 1. Get a dirty water hot dog. They are delicious! 2. Go to Strawberry (one of my favorite stores) 3. Possibly by something from a vendor on the streets (not like a fake watch or something. But there are people who can write your name in a really pretty way. IE. Mine's pink with butterflies. They're all over the place. 4. Be careful. Look both ways before crossing those bust roads (LLAM) 5. Ride the subway! LLAM. 6. And have lots and lots of fun! Hope I helped. ;D

I love being touristy in NYC, even though I live 10 minutes away. I suggest riding the giant Ferris wheel in Toys R Us in Times Square, 'cuz its fun llam. They have awesome fake designer bags in Chinatown. Hard Rock Cafe is uber cool too. Buy an 'I Love NY' shirt and stare upwards as if you've never seen tall buildings before. Llam. Also go to the MTV building and jump around and scream with the teenyboppers, haha.

Hafta check out the Ferris wheel in the Toys R Us and hafta get Nuts 4 Nuts at a street vendor ;D It's a NY tourist tradition, or so I've been told Also, the Met Art Musuem is freakin incredible. But don't try to bring your camera cuz it makes the guards reeeeeeeeally angry Personally, I found the Natural history musuem incredibly boring, and I'm a history major too but y'know, whatever floats your boat. Oh, and you have to check out Sardi's restaurant. And everything Steph mentioned too

They have awesome fake designer bags in Chinatown. I bought a Wizard of Oz one when I was there! Heehee I went into pratically every little place cause I knew I saw one last time - it's the Tin Man, Scarecrow, Dorothy, & the Lion skipping down the Yellow Brick Road.

They have awesome fake designer bags in Chinatown. I have such a thing for purses that everytime I go to NY, I always make the pilgrimage to Chinatown for some fakes...and I shall definitely be dragging her along for that.

Haha, I love the Chinatown fakes. And you can always bargain them down to a lower price, too ;D.
Also, if you're gonna be at the Gershwin a lot, go to Cosi's, it's right near there. Its a restaurant, and it has these AMAZING s'more desserts where they give you a mini-stove thingy on your table and you can roast marshmellows, graham crackers and Hershey bars. Omug, soooo freakin' good!

You could also go to Serendipty 3, on 60th and 3rd. There's also a huge candy store nearby, and it's across from Bloomingdale's
