School Wicked Theme...PLEASE HELP!

Hey! I need alot of help from everyone!

In my school each year they have a thing called "Battle of the Classes" sort of like a color war thing..and each class [freshman, sophomores, etc..] needs a theme. So Cait and I suggested "Sophmores in Oz" to have a whole Wizard of Oz/Wicked theme...Nobody has ever done this before so we thought it was original.

At first nobody liked it but then more people started voting for it. The other option is "Sophomores and the Sphnixes" which we think is a really rediculous theme llam..its supposed to be Egyptions or something

The teacher wants me to put a list of ideas for the theme "Sophmores in Oz" so if you could PLEASE PLEASE help and give us some ideas [before tomorrow if possible] that would be amazing! the more ideas-the better chance we have of getting our theme picked!

We need ideas for a float, hallway decorating, a skit, a dance, posters, etc...but if you have ideas for ANYTHING please post it or let me know by PMing me. Thank you so much!!

I think that is an awesome idea i wish my school did that
anyway the colors could be pink and green and u could hang WoO and Wicked pictures in the rooms ummmm for a float umm i don't know im not artistic so yea but all decorations should be pink and green u could do a dance to a song from wicked yea well i hope that helped im really bad at coming up with stuff

I think for a skit you could probably do a scene from Wicked that relates to your group, like when people come to Shiz and are in their cliques or whatever. You could also do a skit with just the characters and make up your own scene that could be in the show.
Floats I'm terrible with, but you could probably do a Shiz scene.

I think the best dance song you could use would be "Dancing Through Life", it fits like a school theme, "the trouble with schools...etc." you know? And then you could do the amazing part when Elphie comes on and does her dance (the really odd but beautiful dance) that later everyone starts doing to promote and teach people to learn from other people and get along with your classmates! I think that woud be a great message to send any school!

The skit...you need something that will have a lot of people involved...so again, you could probably create your own scene based upon Wicked or the wizard of Oz....Maybe have the scarecrow, the lion, and the tin man in group therapy or something because of their treatment by the Wicked Witch and have Glinda be the moderator or therapist! Or you can have them all Galindified...similar to Elphie in Popular...which could be hysterical! Give the cowardly lion a manicure, etc...just some thoughts!

Posters....take advantage of the Wicked vocabulary! Ozmopolitan, Rejoicify, Congratulotions, Swankified and make them fun, but informative to create a sense of your theme and the ideas behind Wicked!

The float...hmm....Can you have something where Dorothy, Glinda, the tinman, the lion and the scarecrow are with the munchkins or something and then have the Wicked Witch appear out of nowhere! I know that would be hard, but I just watched the WWoO today, and you could have smoke and stuff if possible!

Or actually you could have a "One Short Day" theme for the WHOLE thing, which would be interesting. Making GREEN the dominant color of the day...Everything GREEN! And since this show or thing, is only for literally "one short day" it would work really well! You could have EVERYONE dress up in green and just go from there!

i really like the idea of therapy for teh ozian characters for the skit, its so modern and frisky and fun, without being lame and unfitting. it may not be ultrafitting for WoO, but its si for that smart and contemporary Wicked. It's just perfect.
for teh float, I envisionThe Emerald city, followed by a long yellow bridalish train, a sort of quasi yellow brock road. Someone walks along side it, distributing green glasses. they could be cheap paper things with green translucent plastic for the lens, just something to positively Ozmify the view.
Oh, and have a speaker playing a loop of "Horse of a different color" and "One short day" to get people in taht townsy communal, emerald feel.
have tons of fun with whatever you do.
and i know you want oz, but c'mon, Egyptian isnt positivilutely morrible, now is it?
But u are certainly right, Sophmores in Oz is totally awesome.
Just be sure to dress in green, and where your glasses, you are in Oz, you know.

It would be fun to have like, people dressed in navy and white, walking around with suitcases at the beginning and then have someone as Elphie enter (hmm, you Courtney?? haha) and do a bit of the "No, I'm not seasick, yes I've always been green..." part and then have someone as Galinda, etc. And then, I like the idea of Dancing Thru Life, with the Elphie dance. Lol, I love the Elphie dance. *tries to dance like Elphie and fails, fails, fails* Oh well. I'll just stand over there...

Before I start giving any ideas I can come up with, is this Wicked or all aspects of Oz? Because you'll want two different things entirely - you don't want to confuse people too much by blending them together. I think it should be either Elphie's wicked (Oz) or she's not (Wicked). Cuz too much of both and everyone will be thoroughly confused.

Unfortunately the people in my school liked the "Sphinxes" idea better (Okay..just NO) so it was 20 for that and 17 or 18 for ours :'(Very upsetting..too bad you guys couldnt have came and voted! llam

Oh man! That's so sad! I wish I could have voted, haha. They'd be counting and get like, 50 with my name and they'd go "...Who's Grant?" lol. At least the Sphinxes (btw, what a weird idea. Totally not cool.) didn't win by a land slide! That would have been so sad, if you were the only one who voted for Oz haha.

That's sad that they didn't pick Wicked. But I don't think Sphinxes are that bad. Think of it like The Mummy. There are some cool things you can do with it.
