Has anyone seen it? I'm seeing it soon, and was wondering what people thought of it. I love the soundtrack (except for "I know where I've been"...that song is sooo boring! No offence!), but I just want ppl's opinion on the show

Hairspray was my first Broadway show and I loved it! I saw the original cast, though. I've heard Carly is really good, so that's a plus. Don't know about Bruce Vilanch. I don't think he'd be as good as Harvey Fierstein. And with "I Know Where I've Been", it's a little more interesting in the context, I think. Eh, you can dislike it if you want. There's usually one song to dislike in every show.

I saw Hairspray two weeks ago and it was so good. It was one of those musicals that I wasn't really interested in seeing but my friend suggested it and it was amazing. I will definitely see it again. Carly was amazing, she was hilarious and has a great voice. Bruce Vilanch was funny. He did a lot of ad libbing and he was really funny. You will definitely love this musical. I did. As funny as Carly was the girl that plays her best friend Penny is really great!

I actually forgot to post it here for a bit, but I saw it!!!! It was hilarious! Carly was awesome, and Bruce Vilanch was soooo funny! During "Timeless to Me" he ad-libbed a lot, and for one of them it was "Wilbur, stop, I'm a desperate houswife!" ! Which was sooo funny. The others a bit inappropriate, but he also said "Call OnStar, my airbags are difflating (sp?)" . And I also LOVED Seaweed and Penny, who were cracking me up the whole time. And I saw the understudy for Amber, Becky Gusvig, and she was really good too! But the best was that I got to meet most of them at the stage door at the end. I really haven't ever stood @ teh stage door b4 (other than Little Women) so, it was awesome to have like 8 people signing! And they were all so nice, and I also found out the girl playing Lil' Inez was ten!!!! I'm looking at her like "OMG!" and she was laughing. The only people I wish could've signed were the person playing Penny (who left without signing any) and Bruce Vilanch, who we waited for, but after a while they said, "You guys may want to leave, because its taking Bruce a while to turn back into a man" which the security guard said, who was really nice Lol, anyways, VERY fun experience!

Oh, btw, watch out for Becky Gutsvig, because my friend and I are betting that after a while, she will be Glinda (you cannot believe how much she looks like a Glinda. Well, we actually saw Laura Bell Bundy as Glinda when we saw Wicked, so maybe we just think of her as an Amber type...). We thought she may have been an u/s for Glinda, but I just checked and I guess she isn't. Oh well, still look out for her

Thank you!!! Yes, Bruce is definitly worth it, just for his humor Doesn't she look like Glinda? I swear, I just know that someday she'll be playing Glinda because she is just such a Glinda type, and has a great voice and sense of humor
