I've seen Spelling Bee, and it is great! For pretty much the whole show I was laughing, and everyone else was laughing. I think that if you like DRS, you will probably like this. This is smaller, and has great heart. It's just really great.

Spelling Bee was absolutely wonderful, and totally worth buying standing room tickets for. SO much heart. I've heard amazing things about LitP, too-- Victoria Clark, of course, but Kelli O'Hara looks great as well, and Matt Morrison is just so pretty, not to mention a swell actor.

I haven't seen Light in the Piazza, but the music is great. The OBCR is out, so you can get it. I am absolutely in love with the music.

The appeal for me for this show is Matthew Morrison *sigh* who originated Link in Hairspray. He has such a wonderful voice and he's cute. Haven't seen Light, though. The music sounds good.

Ahh, Matt Morrison. Pretty. Watch Marci X. I haven't actually seen the whole movie, just a short segment where Matt, Manley Pope (of Rent fame) and a couple of other guys do a boy band routine that's very much worth watching.

The Spelling Bee looked hilarious but Light in the Piazza looked SUPER boring..... I loved the DRS number, I luved Norbert. He did great! Anyway, I don't think Matt Morrison is that hot. At least in the Hairspray program. I luv his voice though.....

I have heard a bit of it, and won't judge and say its really boring, but its not really my taste. The cast is definitly one of the most talented out there, but it really just doesn't appeal to me. The music is pretty, and one of those before you go to bed type CDs, but I'm not sure I'd se eit

sorry to bring up this thread... I have seen TLITP, and I think it is amazing. Victoria Clark, Kelli O'Hara, and Matt Morrison are Wonderful. If you have a chance to see the show, I really think you should, it's a great (moving) story, and there are actually some really funny parts.

Hope you have fun! And I hope there are no understudies. I think the song statues and stories really wasn't the best for the tonys. Although that was definately the best song to choose, but many songs are much more interesting, and kind of more amazing. Like Aiutami, The Beauty Is, or Fable.

Ok, going back to this, i finally bought the CD, and really do like it! lol, it still isn't my absolute favorite, but the actors all have BEAUTIFUL voices! I recently went to see Sweet Charity (which, though not all may have loved) and thought it was one of the most adorable musicals I've seen in a long time! Anyways, that's not what I was getting at. I went to see it (sweet charity) and was super close to buying tickets, but I ended up not. But I still am super intrested in seeing it. And spelling bee!
