Ok, I really have to say that I seem to do most my posts in the off-topic section (lol) and that is because I am the most random person...But, anyways, I was wondering if there was anyone here who had/has a certian facination with 80s movies. My friend got me into them this past summer when showing me the hilarious Sixteen Candles. Then I found out about the Brat Pack, got into The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire, then found www.fast-rewind.com (a site for 80's movies) and my obsession grew. My favorite of the moment ( i just finished watching it) is The Lost Boys with Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patric. Its horror/comedy, much like Buffy (;D), and just plain good. I also still am very much in love with the Brat Pack films. Anyone else share this strange obsession?

Based on that list, I am definitely an 80s movie fan. Most of my favorite movies are on that list: Back to the Future, Clue, The Princess Bride, Batman, Return of the Jedi, etc. I like The Little Mermaid too. I believe I saw it in the theaters when it came out. I was about 4 or 5, so memory of that isn't good, but my parents can tell you that my sister and I listened to the tape over and over and over again, lol.

80's movies are pretty cool, once you get past the corny outfits (some of which I might have worn if I'd been born 5 years earlier). I love BttF the best. That list reminds me that I love Teen Witch. Haven't seen it in a while. I love Princess Bride, too, and I can quote whole sections from that. I think people are odd if they haven't seen (or heard of) that movie.

I love Princess Bride, too, and I can quote whole sections from that. I think people are odd if they haven't seen (or heard of) that movie. That and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels have to be my two favorite movies; I can quote both of them...though it does tend to cause my friends to throw blunt objects at my head. And my best friend hates Princess Bride with a passion; I don't know why. So I annoy her with it, being the sweet, kind, mature seventeen-year-old that I am. *snort*

I totally agree that 80s movies have a total cheese factor to them, but I agree even more that some of my favorite movies are from teh 80s. One of my all time favorites is The Breakfast Club, because as cheesy and sometimes boring as it is, I can still relate to it, even 20 years later. Plus, that is probably one of the only movies I can quote almost every line from (well, like 3/4ths I guess...I'm a bit sad, I know).

You guys've seen Teen Witch? I remember seeing it on Tv and thinking it was...let's just say weird. The part I remember the most is in the locker room they randomly broke into a song called "we like boys' for no reason. Very 80sish but still odd. I LOVELOVELOVE Back to teh Future, as well as DRS and The Princess Bride!
