Okay....I just got the OBCR of Brooklyn, the Musical and I was surprised that there wasn't a thread for it.

Anyway, I love Brooklyn!! It is one of the best shows of the past year, in my opinion, and I think it got terribly underrated. "Once Upon A Time" is coming close to being a new Defying Gravity to me, and Eden Espinosa is awesome!!!!!!

I enjoy BKLYN very much, probably more than most. I was in love with Eden since I saw her live in Wicked, and my parents got me BKLYN for my birthday. It kind of...grows on you, much like We Will Rock You.

Of course, not many people know about BKLYN, and those who do know it from the NY Times, where it has been thoroughly trashed because it is a "fairy tale", it's costumes are "unique" and it has mostly unknowns in its small cast. In short, it hasn't gotten rave reviews.

Which is probably why it's closing. *sigh* Maybe it could have a miraculous comeback before it closing a la Sweet Charity, but I doubt it. At least I have pictures...

Oh, and a note: don't lean against the wall outside the theatre that has the huge picture of Eden; yeah, it moves. I learned the hard way a few weeks ago -_-

I love BKLYN, it's great music.
It reminds me a lot of RENT, except it's a fairy tale.
I'll be honest that I didn't like the music the first time I heard it.
I loved it a few weeks later though. I'm so sad it's closing.
Does anyone else have tickets to the closing show? (june 26)

Aug, so unfair. I wish I had tickets to see the closing show. I tried to talk my da into buying them, but he told me he's spent too much on tickets for my cousin, best friend, and me plus I have to pay for England.

I'm sooo sad that it's closing the week before I go to New York!! I really wanted to see it!
