Since I don't know any of the other nominations besides Sweeney Todd, and I adore Patti LuPone, it's the only show I'm rooting for. (Not that I've ever seen the revival *sad*, I just incessantly listen to the CD...)

150 Brown is love. Let me know if you have any questions about it, or college application/other stuff in general! 148....Well, do have any tips overall for getting into an Ivy League school? Columbia is my top choice, since it's so close to the United Nations, which is great for International Relations. (Not to mention, they have a program that allows students to take some classes at Julliard!)

147 Well, if you're interested in IR, don't be afraid to look outside the Ivy League. Georgetown and Johns Hopkins were on my list for that reason, too-- and I don't know much about Columbia, but being near the U.N. doesn't necessarily guarantee you anything. Look into the actual IR department and programs first. Overall, the 'tips' I'd have for getting into an Ivy are the same as those for any other college. That's the thing-- the Ivy League is technically just a sports conference. Yes, they're all very good school, but so are, say, Stanford, Amherst, Emory, Rice, etc. Basically, it's the same thing-- keep your grades up, prepare for the standardized tests (and take the ACT and the SAT), do extracurriculars that you enjoy and can take a leadership role in (if possible), etc. Look, really look at colleges that you like-- don't be lured in by prestige, though if such a school is really right for you, *yay*. When I was picking schools, it really came down to a gut feeling for me. I was talking about schools with some people the summer before my senior year, and someone mentioned Yale (which was tied with Brown as my first choice at the time), and I nodded along. And then someone said Brown, and I jumped up and got excited, and then went, "Oh! This is probably a sign..." It also helps the process along if you and your parents are on the same page. Mine gave me pretty much free reign to choose, which made life much simpler. I called my mom to tell her it was going to be Brown early decision, and she just said, "Great, let's get to work!" They were behind me 100% of the way, but I've had friends whose parents were pushing, say, a so-called 'better' school, or their own alma mater, etc., which made the applying and choosing harder. If you and your parents don't quite see why, talk to them-- don't fight or just settle. If your options are open (e.g., not restricted by money stuff or you got in where you want senior year), sit down and hear each other out-- know just why you want to go to a given school (both your own and ones that they'd approve of), have backup choices, and be prepared to hear what they have to say as well. Good luck

146....Thanks! Right now my top choices/majors are Columbia (International Relations....I've looked into their program a little and you can get your masters and bachelors in five years), Northwestern (Journalism), Fordham (International Relations..they have lots of internships at UN), Princeton (Psychology/Premed). I have a few others, but those were the ones I could think of off the top of my head.
Thanks sooooooooo much for the tips, but I have one other question: do you think double majors are worth it (ie: theatre) or is a minor just as good?

Double majors are not worth it, unless you're in some kind of program that specifies or demands it. As my advisor put it, why worry about fulfilling those last couple pain-in-the-tuchas requirements and miss out on that cool art class you wanted to take? At Brown, apparently only one shows up on your diploma anyway, and we don't even have minors. BUT though I'm a PoliSci concentrator, I can still take all the literature and writing courses my heart desires-- without having to quibble about whether I'm on the right track of study or if a class counts for appropriate credit.
Also, given your interests and the level of schools you're looking at...check up on Georgetown, Tufts, William & Mary, Macallister (sp?) and Johns Hopkins for IR, Columbia also for journalism, and Northwester, Dartmouth, and Brown (hee!) for psych or premed. Well, Brown's psych department supposedly isn't great, but there is a great program (if you know you want to go to med school) called PLME (Program in Liberal Medical Education, I think) that, if you're accepted into it, allows you automatic admission into Brown's med school after graduation with half the usual premed requirements and with extra doctor-likee programming throughout your undergraduate experience.
Bear in mind also that if this is the caliber of university available to you, anywhere you end up will have stellar connections and alumni contacts to line up such internships. Many schools do benefit by proximity-- I can't really take advantage of during-the-year programs on Capitol Hill, say-- but, for instance, my cousin who went to tiny, in-the-middle-of-nowhere Amherst College managed a Smithsonian internship one summer and is about to be a grad student at Oxford.
Also, a lot of schools offer five-year masters programs. I don't know much about this option, but Columbia definitely isn't the only one. A different cousin at Stanford is about to finish his fourth of five years for geology.

Mwahaha. I am done.
On the other hand, I start my summer job on Tuesday, and it's from 9-6 five days a week with a rather paltry stipend...ah well.

140 I am officially a high schooler. Woo hoo. But I've been taking high school courses since 7th grade (Algebra and Spanish I-A) and I took Geometry, IPS, and Spanish I-B this year, so yeah. And I get to see Wicked again in less than 2 days! ;D

139 You're lucky!! I'll only officially be a high schooler on June 14th at 12:07pm. But I'm in the same boat-Algebra and Spanish 1 in seventh grade, and Geometry and Spanish 2 (we don't have an advanced Science option) in eighth.
By the way, has anyone heard anything about how good an IB program is supposed to be?

136....Auditions tonight. I'm not that nervous cuz I'm too young to get a lead, but my sister is auditioning for the female lead and her allergies have been acting up, so she's really anxious to get it over with.
