My Spelling Bee Experience

Ok, I know its not really a place for reviews, but on Tuesday night I had the funniest experience I've ever had at the theater with the wonderful Spelling Bee. Ok, first off, one of the highlights of the show was one of the speller's (who "Won his school's 'Bob Saget Look Alike Contest') was soooooooooooo good at spelling! On the word that was supposed to be his last, he got it right, so they called him right back up for a word liek xerophonoscophious (pronounced zerofanascoapous or something really confusing) and he GOT IT RIGHT!!!!! They called him right back up, he asked for the definition they said "No!" lol, then right as he was about to spell the word, they rang the bell and started singing "Goodbye" lol, we clapped really loud for him, he could've been up there all night! Lol, btw I am officially in love with Leaf Coneybear. I loved when he randomly fell of the bleachers! He had me in tears. The rest of the cast was beyond amazing as well, especially Dan Fogler and Celia Keenan Bolger! The I Love You Song was sooo sad and Magic Foot was hysterical. dan totally deserved the award if only for "My whole life I've only been able to breathe out of one nostril, and tonight is no different!" it would take me a looooooong time to name all the hilarious parts of this musical, so I'm gonna end it here with saying SEE THIS MUSICAL ASAP!!!!!!!!RUN don't WALK!!!

Leaf and Olive are my favorite characters...*yay*

I'm glad you loved the show! It's such a wonderfully sweet piece, and it has a real heart that you don't see a lot. I think it got overshadowed this season by the craziness of Spamalot and the awesomeness of Light in the Piazza (not to mention the Norbert-ness of DRS ), but I agree, everyone should go see this!

I'm so happy that you saw it! The thing about the super hard word is hilarious! I love that! The sponge bob look alike contest is hilarious! I saw a show where they said julie andrews look alike.

I loooove Jesse! I met the entire cast after the show and they were all sweethearts! Dan Fogler was soooooooo shy though! The only one who wasn't there was whoever played Ms. Peretti (I forget her name). I LOVED the guy playing Mitch (again totally blanking)! He was a total sweetheart! I was like "You were so awesome! Could I have your autograph?" and he's like "You want my autograph, really?" !!!!!).
