I saw it the other night, and I believe its save to say I loved it. The bird named Aldolf sealed it for me. Stars it right- it wasn't at all cinimatic, especially in the sequence when Matthew was looking straing into the camera and singing. But it was so freaking hilarious.

And remember "Betrayed"? That's one of my favorite songs, but-- oh my lord! Did it change at all from when Nathan Lane did it for a Tony a few years ago, from the loss of the fourth wall to the lights on the jail cell bars?

Didn't see the Tony performance, but it seems exactly like what you're describing.

They took out the reference to intermission and "I used to be the King, but now I am the fool. A captain without a ship, a rabbi without a shoul" (sp). Those are the only differences I really noticed for "Betrayed", besides the things mentioned.
