I just got a FANTABULOUS e-mail!!!! Evidently, the NYC radio station Z100 is helping to celebrate Wicked Day!! They are hosting a "Be Wicked" Singing Contest! Here are the details.
Z100 "Be Wicked" Singing Contest
Now's your chance to strut your stuff and show us how WICKED you can be! Z100, in honor of WICKED DAY, will be hosting singing competitions at different locations in the tri-state area. Finalists will be chosen at each event and will then participate at the "BE WICKED" finals, judged by WICKED director Joe Mantello, casting director Bernie Telsey and WICKED stars at the WICKED DAY Block Party.
The Grand Prize for the Z100 "Be Wicked: Singing Contest: "The Ultimate Wicked Party Package"
The winner plus 9 guests will receive tickets to WICKED, dinner, limo, hotel accommodations, WICKED merchandise, a backstage tour and more!

I have the locations for the tryouts, just in case anybody is interested!  *Entrants will be selected on a first-come, first served basis and must come prepared to sing a song from WICKED. Accompaniment will be provided.* Sunday, October 24 (2PM - 4 PM) "BE WICKED" Semifinal #1 Rockaway Town Square, Rockaway, New Jersey. Thursday, OCTOBER 28th (4PM - 6 PM) "BE WICKED" Semifinal #2 Stew Leonard's, Yonkers, NY. Friday, October 29 (3PM - 5PM) "BE WICKED" Semifinal #2 Broadway Mall, Hicksville, Long Island Saturday, October 30 (10AM - 1PM) "WICKED DAY" Block Party Finals of "BE WICKED" Singing Contest Outside the Gershwin Theatre 51st St. between Broadway and 8th Ave. |

I think that's the point of Wicked day, to celebrate the one-year anniversary. Wish I could go! Isn't that so cute?? I wish I could go too! But I'll have to settle with wearing Wicked shirt and hoodie and slathering on the green eye shadow  |

As a follow up, I just wanted to say how AMAZING today was, despite having to sing outside in freezing weather at a Stu Leonard's grocery store. The winners were insanely talented, and I made so many new friends there. None that I saw there were from the boards though, which made me very sad.  Is anybody going to the block party on Sunday? |

I'll be there on Sunday, at least for a little bit. I was at the try-out in Rockaway and the finalists there were also completely amazing so I am curious to see who wins. Heh heh, but getting a free "Defy Gravity" pin definitely made the hour and a half drive to get there worth it.

I am officially crazy!! I am waking up, meeting at a friend's house at 7:15 AM and boarding a 7:30 train bound for grand central!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!
