Hi everyone! I'm in need of a little assistance. See, I'm taking a web design class at school and I'm doing a fansite about Wicked as my main project. One of my pages is for experiences seeing the show, but since I have yet to see it I don't have an experience story yet. I'm getting one of my friends to give me hers, but I would like to have more. I didn't want to just take people's stories off of here without asking so if anyone would like to add to my site, please either post the story in this thread or, if you prefer, e-mail me at either purplestarz2006@aol.com or sparklingdiamond2006@yahoo.com. Include your first name and the date you attended the show. Please put Wicked Experience in the subject lines of e-mails. Keep in mind, it may be awhile before the site actually gets online. The class runs until January and then we're burning them to cd's to take home and upload if we want. Thanks a bunch! Mary:)

Miracle on 51st Street Tuesday, December 28th 2004 Ok... So at 1 am, I was struggling to finish my Physics homework and send out my college essays. Well, my mom was so angry that I did not finish it the day before that she called up the hotel and cancelled our trip to Broadway (To see Wicked). Take note- those who know me, I have been obsessing over this musical for months now… I ran upstairs, slammed the door, and BAWLED my eyes out and cried really loudly. After about 20 minutes of this, she came in and told me that it was my fault the trip was cancelled because I did not finish my homework. After about an hour, she came back and said that if I brought my textbook along on the trip, we could still go. I stayed up till 6am trying to finish my homework… Then, I woke up at 9 to go to the dentist and rushed to school to get my textbook (thankfully, the school was open because of a track meet…). I quickly drove home and showed her my textbook. We left the house at 11:30 and had to stop to get gas and air for the tire… by the time we headed out, it was 12:30, and the lottery started at 4:30 (and we still had to check into the hotel). My mom sped to the hotel in 2 hours (45 minutes less than the estimated time). Then we drove to Broadway. And guess what, the traffic wasn’t backed up for 1 hour like it usually is on a regular day. She dropped us off at the Gershwin Theater at 4:10. The line was already backed up to the streets… My sister, mom and I put our names in for drawing, but had to wait another 30 minutes extra because more people kept joining the line. There were at least 300-400 people there. I stood (behind the green line…) and prayed, which I had been doing since I heard we were going to NY. I started singing “I Hope I Get It” (A Chorus Line) and “It’s Possible” (Seussical) they announced the first 7 people and my named still hadn’t been called. I kept praying… Oh yeah, it started snowing! Then they selected 5 more cards and read them off. When I heard my named called, I was SO happy!!! My mom bought us the Vocal Selections book, a T-shirt, and a long sleeve shirt! (I couldn’t be happier, because happy is what happens when all your dreams come true!) I got front row seats on SL and I could see the people in the pit, and I could touch the stage. My sister was also very excited. OK… so the show goes on, and I am in awe of the talent of cast and crew, and there are SO many scenes happening 2 feet away from me. G(a)linda, played by Megan Hilty (Who was SUPERB), and Elphaba (Thank God it was Idina Menzel!), had like 5 scenes where I could almost reach out and touch them!!! AH! And the trap door was RIGHT IN FRONT of me!!!!!! It was SO AWSOME!!!!! Before and after the show (and intermission too) I actually got to touch the stage! OK… Almost done. The balcony where Madam M and Boq talked on were straight up from my seat. And Christopher Fitzgerald spit on me! UGH. Lmao… (During the Witch Hunter scene “It’s due to her I look this way, her spell made this occur”). After Curtain Call, when the map was coming down, Idina did this little happy twirly dance! It was AWSOME! After the show, I got autographs from Joey McIntyre, Megan Hilty (When she came out, this little 8 year old girl sang Popular to her (it was really out of tune… but cute. And then Megan H. said “Wow… You’re going to put me out of a job!”), and Idina Menzel! Before she came out, the policeman came out and said that there will be no posing for photographs, no touching, and no hugging. She finally came out!!! And the little 8 year old girl sang “Defying Gravity” to her. (The ending where she goes “Bring me down…….AH!!”) And it was SO cute, and out of tune… But Idina Menzel was like “AWWwwwww…. That’s so cute! You’re too much!” and she gave the little girl a hug!! Ah… this made my life worth while… My life is now complete… now I can die in peace… Sorry for the long story! If you want the review, I'll post it. But i only reviewed the 1st Act...LoL
