I was just thinking, I think it's kinda cool how both main character has so many fans devoted to her. I mean, there are usually the fans who are obsessed with Galinda/Kristin/JLT/Kendra and those who are obsessed with Elphaba/Idina/Sho/Stephanie. This is really random and doesn't have much of a point, but I think it's cool.

I'm an Elphaba fan--hence the name. For awhile I would only sing Elphaba's parts in songs, which annoyed people around me, especially when I refused to join in when they sang Popular. But I became super obsessed with assuming her personality because I liked it so much (thank goodness that's over!). However, people still call me green.

Yeah, I love the character of Elphaba, I guess I think she is more realistic, but Galinda has definately grown on me! I think she is hilarious now. I love Elphaba's songs, but Galindas are good too. The character of Elphaba I can relate more to I guess. That's probably why I like her better.  |

I am more like Elphie in some ways, but also like shopping+makeup. PLUS, Galinda seems like a very fun part to play ! |

Uhhh..... I used to be more like Elphie but since the show I have adopted being completely Galindaish..... It is my duty to infect imperfectly with my pink clothing ((she's allergic to pink)). HEHE! *shoves pink bow at imperfectly* EAT PINK!!!!!!! Sorry, spazz attack....

I'm much more like Elphaba, and I realized it when I was reading the book (before the play came out) and Elphaba was "chaperoning" Galinda with Boq. All the little snarks and side comments are things I make all the time.
And, you know, my best friend (has the same first name as me, but her middle name is Kristin - a sign? Possibly) is very much G(a)linda, and my cousin has been Nessa since...hmm...for a very long time. She even has a ruby slipper necklace to match my witch hat necklace and my best friend's bubble necklace.

Wow. Cool. Two friends and I (*Popularity in Pink* and nessa_blue here) have very much the same thing going on. The names pretty much tell who we are. We all have our little props that make the part (I have a witch hat, Popualrity has a wand, and...erm...Popuarity considers extreme shortness to be a substitute for the disability in Nessa's case).
Yes, I could hear myself using those little snarks and such like Elphaba did. Sarcasm is my thing too. I'm also not a member of the "in" crowd, and don't seem to really fit in.

I'm also a real Elphaba fan, as I can relate to her so much more than Glinda. I can be pretty sarcastic, and I've always felt like a bit of an outsider. Glinda (or rather, Galinda) reminds me of the in-crowd I was scared of and used to avoid when I was at school.
Plus, Elphaba gets the best songs.

It's weird; in most musicals/movies/shows I usually have one favorite character that I like WAY more than all the others. In Wicked, Elphie is my favorite, but I also love Glinda. She's so cute and even though she can be a little vain, clueless, and well, blonde (I'm allowed to say that cause I'm a natural blonde, lol), she's just so adorable. I can also really relate to her in Act 2. I'm a huge fan of both Kristin and Idina. So, I guess I'm one of the exceptions, lol. But I defintely have noticed this in others.

The characters are so easy to relate to, and in turn, easy to obbsess about them. Glinda and Elphaba, I think, are the easiest to relate to. Outcasts and popular people.... Which is why they have the most fans, besides the small fact they're the main characters.... My favorite character happens to be Elphie. Eh... Sorry for rambling. Figured I should start posting... |
