Okay, I'm starting a fic and I'm gonna be posting it here, so y'all can give feedback as to how you like it, and also to keep me accountable. If people are expecting it, I'll have to continue writing it. A warning: it may be slow-going, cuz I should have a lot of work this semester. Anyway, on to the fic...
Title: That Girl
Pairing: Fiyeraba
Rating: may get to NC17, though that's still up in the air at this point...
Universe: Playvere, baby!
Summary: "The two of you, all this time, behind my back...?" "No, Glinda it wasn't like that..." "Well, it was... but it wasn't!" Mmhmm... Methinks it was.
*Prologue*
Elphaba’s gaze was locked with Fiyero’s as Galinda tried in vain to pry emerald hands from where they clutched dingy brown locks. The bubbly blonde gave up with a dramatic sigh and huffed an “Honestly, Elphie!” before turning to her boyfriend. “Fiyero, doesn't she look positively dazzifying with it down?"
"Uh, yes, definitely. Dazzifying..."
Oh, sweet Oz, he was looking at her like that again. That I-want-my-hands-in-your-hair-and-on-your-body-and-I-know-you-want-it-too look. Was Galinda really so oblivified that she couldn't see it too? Why did he insist on making everything so confusifying? Didn't he understand that Galinda was her only friend?
"Well, Elphie?" Galinda questioned, expectantly.
"I-I guess. Down it is," she replied, releasing the crimpy strands from her grasp. And he had the nerve to smooth it out for her, run his fingers through the tangles on one side, while Galinda worked over the other. Elphaba just sat there, between her best friend and her boyfriend, miserable… and somehow even lonlier than before the night this all started. The night she and Galinda became friends, and she and Fiyero... something more.
