Hey gang As I went from airport to airport today (oops yesterday-- "hey look, it's tomorrow!" llam) I started a fic. But not an Elphie/Fiyero/Glinda fic. You guys do such wonderful Fyeraba fics and there's no way in hell I want to compete with y'all so instead I went with something different, but now it's starting to look harder than I originally thought. It's a fic about one of the most overlooked Maguire characters, who is nowhere near being in the musical. It's about Nor. I thought it was sad that Maguire never resolved the Nor storyline and c'mon, I couldn't leave Nor in the clutches of the evil Wizard (spoilered for those who haven't read the end of the book yet!) But my main problem is that I can't remember much about the last Nor scene of the book. (spoiler) Nor is like the Wizard's slave, right? She's in chains and Elphie tries to help her but doesn't or can't or something like that?TEXT The fic is about Nor post-Wizard. Yes there's a handsome hero and romance and adventure and intrigue and all that stuff, but I figure I'd better get my Nor facts straight before I post anything ;D So anything you guys can tell me about Nor in the book, please donate! I'll have to return to my library but there's a waiting list and the fic idea is burning a hole in my head! Need to get it all out there as fast as I can!!

Wow, this is a great idea. All I really know about her post-wizard is that Liir goes off to rescue her and isn't heard from in a long time. -gyps

On the last page of the book, the last thing said about Liir is this: "Liir disappeared into the sea of humanity in the Emerald City, to hunt for his half-sister, Nor. He was not heard from again for some time."
So, I guess it'd up to you how long "for some time" actually is.
Good luck!

Well, Liir wasn't exactly the dashing hero I had in mind to sweep the new improved Nor off her feet, but I'll definitely have to work him in to the story now ;D Thanks gals!
Oh, another question-- anyone know Nor's age when she's taken and how long is it from the time Elphie last sees Nor til the time Elphie's killed? Wondering what age Nor is in her last scene so I can figure out what time frame I'm writing in. Gosh I know I should already know all this stuff but I can't remember it!

Well, she's about 16 or 17 in the last time we see her. Elphaba is 38, I think, or 39, when she last sees Nor, who is the youngest child (I'm pretty sure). So when Elphaba gets wet and dies, Nor is still 16, still in the wizard's control. -gyps

That sounds like a cool fic idea. I didn't realize the whole Liir being Elphie and Fiyero's son until the 3rd time through. I thought they would have done better. LOL.

LLAM I was thinking that too! He's so lame!! Yeah, but look at what was missing in his life. I mean, he didn't exactly get a mother's love from Elphie...and never had a father figure. I'm sure he would have turned out different if Yero had lived and Elphie had come to the conclusion earlier that he was her son.

Cool ideas you guys. I don't think that I'd get very far if I tried to do a Glinda/Fiyero/Elphaba fanficcy. A little OT, but where in the world would Barnes and Noble sell that book that you guys are talking about? I didn't know about the book at all until just now. If someone could tell me where I could find it...

And more discussion on the book can be found elsewhere on the board in the topic of "The Grimmerie." And a Fiyphga (as Yero/Glin/Elphie) fics are called, sounds awesome.
