Here's my first crack at writing a fanfic, so it won't be terrific, but I like it llam. Here it is.
Hollowed Love
The tears flowed long after dark. The small room that belonged to Nessarose was filled with sounds of heavy breathing and choking. Things would continue this way throughout the night. But there was a brief pause in her crying in which the crippled girl looked up towards the open window. She thought she spotted a green fleck of light stride through the sky. Later she wouldn’t admit to have ever seeing in, but in her heart she knew it was Elphaba. Elphaba, the wicked sister who had left everything behind, everything that she had ever belived and loved. Everything, including Nessa.
As Nessa thought about the cruelness of the day, small pellets of rain began to flick themselves against her soft skin. She began to laugh. The very thought of rain attacking the green goblin in the sky was amusing. It was a small compensation, but Nessa wanted to hear the screams of her sister as the water turned her skin into fire. She wanted Elphaba to feel a burn, much like the burn that she had left on Nessa’s heart.
The rain began to pick up, drenching to garden below. Pulling her wheelchair closer to the window, Nessa reached the shutter and was about to close it when she saw a small yellow-covered figure hurtling itself towards the gates of Shiz. Nessa at once recognized this figure as Galinda. This was last person to see Elphaba before she flew that wretched broom out of Nessa’s life. And although she had always liked Galinda, she hoped that she wouldn’t stop by her room. Not tonight. Nessa knew that Galinda would want to console her and to tell her all of the details of Elphaba’s departure, but Nessa didn’t want to hear it. A knock on the door sounded throughout the room. “Nessa, are you there? I really need to talk to you,” Galinda’s choking voice rang out. Nessa sat there silently hoping, wishing that she would just leave. “I know you’re awake Nessa. I saw you at the window. Please, let me in.” Galinda continued to pound the wooden door until Nessa, sighing with regret, wheeled over and unlocked it.
Once Galinda was inside, tears started streaming down her porcelain-skin face. This is exactly what Nessa was afraid of. “Really now Miss Galinda, it’s too late for this sort of thing. Can’t you perhaps come tomorrow, or later in the week?” Galinda began to cry even harder. “It’s . . . it’s . . . it’s Glinda now. Didn’t Fiyero tell you?” “He failed to mention it,” Nessa flatly stated. “Well, it is.” Glinda climbed onto Nessa’s bed. “Oh Ness, I’m really upset about Elphie, and I’m sure you . . .” Glinda wasn’t able to finish her thought because Nessa had just thrown a large lamp at the small mirror that stood in her room. “No, I’m not upset about Elphaba! Neither should you be! She left you just as she left me and I don’t ever want to see her greenness again! Now, kindly leave my room.” Glinda startled by the sudden out burst climbed out of the bed and hurried over to the door. “I’m sorry Nessa, I won’t be botherfying you again.” Without another word Glinda left the room. She never again would bring the topic of Elphaba up. It was then that Glinda realized how much Nessa reminded her of Elphaba.
More to come . . .
